My sister just got a make-up consultation from sephora and loved the make-up she got done...so my question is do you tip the person or what...if you do tip how much do you give.

Honestly, they just want you to buy all the products. It makes them look much better to their boss. I don't know if I've ever seen anyone tip. Unless it was a scheduled appointment

If I feel like the person was really helpful I just ask...if they would prefer a cash gratuity or a little help towards meeting their sales quota...and I've had ppl give both answers...and tell me they really appreciate me being straight forward aabout it

I've never thought to tip a store MUA. I always *assumed they were looking for sales more than anything. I never take up their time if I don't plan to buy. I also make sure to mention their name at checkout, at Sephora for example. I also complete the electronic survey that's at the bottom of the receipt mentioning how helpful they were etc. I know companies I worked for really took those surveys seriously.
