Its a dual-productive thing. You set the eyeliner with eyeshadow so it won't budge and the eyeliner helps the eyeshadow stick so it won't get in your eyes. Sorry for the bad close up but you get the idea

I do it and If you're careful it won't! Even the times I have gotten it on my eye your eyes moisture rinse it away, no real irritation.

Hi Allison,

All these ladies have very helpful tips - setting with a shadow is always a good bet. Also using a waterproof eyeliner if you are wanting to put it directly in the waterline for a tightlining approach would be Inglot (in a pot - apply with a dense liner brush), Make Up For Ever's Aqua Eyes as well as Bobbi Brown (She has one in a pot as well as a pencil form). Both are highly pigmented and are opthamologist approved. Then set with your favorite shadow like the above picture Kaitlyn posted (beautiful color, by the way).
