I wanted a very honey-like balayge. And instead got very few lowlight. I showed her pictures on how I wanted btw. But she wanted to do it in her way.And it did cost a lot. So I called her to get a appointment without paying for the hair. I showed her the picture once again. And she did highlight instead. Which looks HORRIBLE. I hate it a lot. I did not want to complain because I do not want to go there again. I'm on a student budget. And can't afford paying for another hairdresser to fix the mistake. My question to you guys is, What can I do at home or with the help of someone else?

I did hair for under a decade. Don't fix it yourself. Um I'd say for now go to a Sally's, never box dye and put on a solid color then save money and do some research around your area and find a hairstylist who is talented and experienced in color in a private salon.

Color is much harder to be good at in the beauty industry. That's why you do the research

Clearly who ever did your hair was not experienced or they don't further their education

Sadly I live in a scandinavian country and we don't have sally here :(

And yes I HATE it. I have no confidence and can't go out because of it. She said she had 25 years of hairsalon experience. Which clearly shows the opposite. With what audacity did she leave me with my hair like that :(

Would toner fix it? I don't have money for a greater and more expensive stylist. And what color would I need to fix this mess?

Thank you for answering btw ^^ I really need lots of tips

Well I got lots of tips lol. She didn't get any extra education that's why it is so horrible. Can you order from Amazon?

May 3, 2017

Grace G.

I can pick out professional toner for you and tell you what to order

Grace G.

I'll also tell you how to apply it so you get a good application

Yeah that would be great if you could tell me. Since I'm in a big need of change. I usually never order from amazon. But I could if I really like the product

What do you think think I should do about the different tones in my hair?

You need to go back and speak to the manager or salon owner. They need to know that she's not doing good work and they should fix it and give it exactly what you want for free. I don't like complaining either but when it comes to something that you've paid a lot of money for then it should've been done right the first time.

When I went there for the first time she made a lowlight instead of balayge. I insisted that she was going to do balayge free this time. She did it free, but that's definitely not balayge. It looks like the 90's Christina Aguilera type of highlight technique. And no, I do not want to go to another hairdresser since I don't have the money for it. I'm on student budget and hairsalons are very expensive here

Like I said, go back to the same salon and speak to the owner/manager. They'll do it for free.

I don't think there is anything they can do other than coloring once again. Which I do not want

I'm thinking about bleaching the hair that did not get highlighted, is that a good idea? since I have patch of hair that did not get touched

You really need to go back there. She needs to learn that you didn't like it and she either needs to fix it with the help of a coworker or give you your money back. She's at work thinking you left happy and that's what you wanted. It may have been a miscommunication or a technique she didn't know, balayge is quite hard to do since it's a very different thing for every head of hair and requires a lot of natural flow from the hairdresser and a lot of schools don't teach you how long enough to get the hang of it, or only on certain hair styles. Even schooling now, a lot of them don't teach it even though it's very popular. So she may not have the knowledge but may have thought she could do it.

Either way, the salon will fix it without costing you. You can request a different stylist for a small fee if it's different from the hairdresser you went to, but otherwise it won't cost you. The manager or the hairdresser you went to will eat the cost.

Either way, if you go back or not I would suggest not doing anything yourself other than a simple one color dye to try to even it out, but you're not going to be able to do that on your own. Definitely don't bleach it on your own as you won't be able to really separate what's been bleached and what hasn't, and you don't want to lighten the lighter areas more or have to try to match the darker areas to the lighter. It's just not going to be easy or even plausible to do by yourself in my opinion.

Do you have a hair school near you? A lot of hairdressing students learn by doing people's hair for cheap, but the teachers are helping them so there's no risk of it turning out bad. I know my old high school that had a cosmetology course offered cheap hair sessions as well. The teacher fixes anything the student does wrong and is there the whole time, so it's sometimes even better than going to a regular salon since two sets of eyes is usually better than one.

No bleaching on your own

Not every stylist can do balayage. And it's not something you learn in school honestly I don't think you learn anything in school and you certainly are not good at hair when you're in school. I am an experienced hairstylist with almost a decade of experience. Hair school don't know sh**. Sorry I had to say it lol the one color process you can do alone but no bleaching on your own you will regret it. But she's right I absolutely agree. Go get your money back and go somewhere else. Argue till you get it back.

If you go back, they might not do it the way you want but at least they'll know how bad she did. I know someone that had this happen, and she went back and they were able to fix it in a few sessions for free. I wouldn't say to have it done all at once though. I did that and my hair is slightly damaged from all of the lightener. They might be able to put on a dark wash and lighten it later the way you want. Good luck!

Hello

The colorist I went to, she is the owner and has only two workers there. And they only cut. She is the only one who colors. So I rather not let her do my hair for the third time, and ruin it. In my country. You can't get a refund for a hair job. Since it is not a product. Only thing you can do is get free hair appointment to fix it, and it is only three times you get until your right is over

Basically i'm lost on directions.
But I have big chunk of hair that she did not color. And that makes the case even worse. It shows when I have the hair as ponytail. I want to color it so it atleast looks even and not leftout

Well, I got a balayage recently but it was waaay too intense. What I did (with my mom's help) is I got a boxed coloring that was my natural hair color and put it all over. Then of course washed it out. It's been about a week or two and the salon color is coming in again. This has created a very pretty, honey like effect in my hair. Since your hair is done in strips, maybe put color in those areas or you can go all over. In a couple of weeks, the drugstore color will start to fade and you should be left with a pretty effect. I'll be honest though, it isn't awful what she did, but I completely understand it's not what you want. I'll have pictures of what my hair was before and what it's like now if that helps you. This is after I got it done at a salon.

Here it is now. I hope this is a good picture. I wish you luck! ❤️❤️
