How can I prevent my concealer from creasing underneath my eyes. What products can I use before and after applying concealer? Thank you!

Certain concealers simply crease more easily because of their formula, and your own skin can react differently with certain products, but there are a few general guidelines that I find will pretty much improve your results across the board:

The undereye area should be well hydrated. This will plump up superficial fine lines that are caused by lack of moisture in the skin, and give your makeup less opportunity to sink into said lines.

Use as little product as possible to get the result you desire. Less product means less opportunity for creasing.

Experiment with different tools if you have them available. Some concealers will apply better with a brush, while some often work better with a sponge that can sheer them out, making them easier to work with.

Set with powder. You shouldn't need much; the whole baking trend is for more extreme makeup and will without a doubt make your concealer look heavier. The powder you use under your eyes should have the lightest, thinnest texture you can find. For pressed setting powder I like things like the Nars Crystal Powder and its dupe, the Sonia Kashuk Chic Luminosity Glow Powder. The less shimmery shades of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders are also quite nice for the effect they give to the skin.

For loose powder I would start with options by RCMA or Cover FX.

@Leuca S what would be some good products to use before applying any make-up?

A hydrating product that has a slightly tacky finish, but not greasy. Your own regular moisturizer can work well for this.

It seems like cream concealers settle worse on me than liquid concealers. Do you think it's just me or do others experience this as well?

There are definitely other people who experience that, but again, it's just a personal thing and not necessarily something wrong with you or what you're doing. If you find you like the immediate effect it gives but wish to prevent creasing, it may be a good idea to think of concealer as part of your skincare routine. Does the texture play well with what you have on underneath? Is it too emollient for your personal skin? Are you hydrating well enough underneath so as to reduce fine lines as much as possible beforehand? Are you setting it at all, and how does that powder feel like it reacts with your skin?
