Unless you're going to be sitting under harsh UV lighting, you should not need SPF at night. Diana was simply referring to the fact that chemical exfoliation makes your skin a bit more vulnerable to UV radiation, so it's even more crucial that you use SPF 30+ on a daily basis.

Thanks Diana :) but wait, SPF at night also?

Also for when in your routine to apply it - they come with directions usually but they say to apply it after your toner and before your moisturizer/SPF and you definitely want to use SPF after you apply it as well - and Leuca's tips are on point too - basically you can apply it to your whole face - like a lotion and give it time to sink in before you apply moisturizer over it - like 2-5 minutes is about how long I let it sit - hope that helps!

Okay perfect! Thank you so much. I'm looking forward to taking more care of my skin, so I'm excited for it to come and to use it already!

I'm at a point where I use them twice a day, but I would not recommend starting at that point. I would probably start every other day at most, at night after cleanser/toner (if you use a toner) and before serums/moisturizers. If you feel any tingling when you use it, then keep it to at most every other night, for about a week or two or until you notice little to no tingling. After that point you can probably adjust to every night, or two nights before skipping one, etc.

Once your skin's acid mantle has adjusted to frequent chemical exfoliation, the BHA will tingle much less than when you first start, and you'll notice it actually takes down redness somewhat. I noticed smoother skin in less than a week when I first started.

Keeping your skin in a routine of exfoliation will dramatically help texture and pore issues. I generally find something gentle like a microfiber washcloth or my foreo luna 2 is sufficient manual exfoliation in the shower.

Note, I have a few BHA products from her. My everyday product is the Clear Body Spray (yes, I use it for my face). I'll put the Resist Weightless Body Treatment BHA on the occasional spot after the rest of my routine at night, and I still have the 4% BHA foam which will probably get once a week usage at night in place of the spray once my skin is back to normal.

Well that's good, and bad to hear! Lol, I'm looking forward to using it! This sounds silly but how and when do you apply your BHA?

I think PC is most valuable for their exfoliants in terms of price vs formulation quality. I'm recovering from contact dermatitis and am taking it as inspiration to do a little routine revamping, but I cannot replace my BHA products from her line.

No problem let us know how it works for you!

I went ahead and ordered the 2% BHA lotion exfoliant :) thank you Diana!!

For dry skin I would recommend their AHA or low percent (1-2%) BHA lotions - and start slow with them - once a day for a week or two then increase to twice a day if you need to - their cleansers and moisturizers are really nice too but a bit pricey IMO but definitely worth it - have fun shopping!

I'm mainly looking for an exfoliant!

I have dry skin and some whiteheads and cystic pimples that I'm looking to prevent from new ones forming.
