Leuca S.
A well formulated salicylic acid product. Paula's Choice makes the best on the market and their prices are reasonable.
Daily SPF 30+ with broad spectrum protection. Think Avobenzone, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide as active ingredients to look for.
Optional: Supplement with a high potency vitamin C product like this one.

To elaborate on the purpose of each product/step:
Salicylic acid will chemically exfoliate your skin, but the 1-2% leave on products do it gently and without the need for harsh abrasives. They encourage your skin to regenerate and push old layers off, which is where the redness is lingering in your skin.
When your skin is injured (acne counts as a skin injury), the melanocytes present in it produce pigment. In fairer complexions, this often translates into red marks which are essentially stains that need to be lifted out by getting rid of the affected skin layers. Sun damage promotes this pigmentation process and makes it much more difficult to get rid of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Sun damage also makes your skin more vulnerable to acne by subjecting it to constant irritation, and slows the healing process after a spot has appeared. Reliably wearing SPF will do your skin a lot of good in basically every regard.
Vitamin C is an excellent ingredient for targeting hyperpigmentation, and since it's not a "bleaching" ingredient you don't have to worry about messing with your natural skin tone. You see the best results in %'s exceeding 10%, but preferably at or above 15%.
