Is it okay to mix moisturiser and foundation? Most foundations are too dark for me so I have to mix them with moisturiser.

You could get a white foundation mixer. Manic panic sells one as does Nyx. It helped me out a lot when I was having trouble finding foundations to match my skintone. Now I use the Kat Von D lock it tattoo foundation in the shade 41 (the lightest😂) and it matches very well. If you have dry skin or don't like matte foundation the kvd isn't something you'd like. Look into the mixers though 🙂

I agree with the other two girls. a moisturizer is not going to lighten your foundation. it will work great to sheer it out and add a bit of dewiness to it. you need something with a lighter pigment to even out the color, a moisturizer doesn't have pigment in it the white color of many of them is just the nature of the ingredients. a concealer or foundation that is lighter would be good. there are several companies who make white foundations or white adjusters for this specific purpose.

I typically mix foundation and moisturizer to make it lighter in terms of weight which in turn usually makes the coverage a little lighter as well. But if it's working to make the color lighter for you then that's definitely okay, too. You could also try mixing a foundation that's too light with a foundation that's too dark.

If it's working for you, go for it. Moisturiser generally doesn't lighten the colour though, only the weight.
What foundations are you using at the moment? I'm really pale and I've found a few that work for me in regards to both colour and undertone without having to be lightened.
