For those of you who wanted to try Tarte Shape Tape because of the limited shade range, rejoice! They added 4 new shades. I think companies will release a limited "test" shade range to see how the public responds. And if they get a good response, they start to add more shades! Here are the swatches!

Is Fair too dark or too pink for you?

I took these swatches from the Internet, but they are reading really dark. I have the medium and it is not as dark in person as it is in these swatches. I do want a slightly darker shade than medium, but the Tan is too dark. So now they introduced TAN SAND, and even though the placed it AFTER the Tan shade (implying that it is darker) it actually looks slightly lighter than Tan. Which makes sense, because it is described as having yellow undertones which is typically lighter than the Tan which has peach undertones. So , I took a chance & ordered Tan Sand.

Fair is too dark, I've swatched it in person. The tone is decent pretty decent but at least 2 shades too dark.

Is it ACTUALLY too dark for your skin tone or is it just not light enough to be used as an undereye concealer or highlighter?

I have the medium, which is perfect for under my eyes, but I wanted a shade deeper to use on my melasma on my cheek area. Medium is too light and Tan is too dark. So I'm hoping that the new Tan Sand will match.

No, it's too dark for my skin tone. I was looking to use it as a foundation and there would definitely be a noticeable orangey demarcation along my jawline if I used this.

Marleen, I use the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer in Chantilly as my foundation, for a reference shade :) I've swatched them side by side before in Sephora, and the tarte shapetape in fair is maybe a shade or two darker and a bit peachy-er. It's ok! I'm used to not being able to try skin products, most of them don't come light enough for me.

This is a great thread! I know they'll be some very happy makeup junkies about this even if I'm not one of them.

Aw I'm with Jamie! The lightest was still too dark for me. When I wanted a sample the girl was like "I think you'll only be able to contour with it and it might be too dark and harsh for that too" lol. But it's hard to find light enough shades for us paper white girls or the darker girls. Anyone in the middle has no product they can't use lol
