How do you clean makeup brushes really well?

I use antibactiral soap and spray with alcohol to sanitise.

I like to soak the brushes I use on my face (foundation, concealer, powder) in olive oil, then wash them with diluted Dr. Bronners castile soap and water then lay them flat to dry. Eyeshadows brushes are easier so I skip the olive oil step.

I wash them with Dr. Bronner's soap - usually 2-3 times until they're clean. Keep them upside down - never let the water go into the ferrule. Dry them in their natural shape with a wash cloth, and then let them dry on their side or, preferably, a brush tree.
@Hailey and Sateona: why do you soak them in oil first? Do you think the Bronner's soap doesn't get all the dirt out?
