It helps alot for people who cant apply their lipsticks properly and evenly it also helps the lipstick not run but sometimes i dont use it and i feel the same

If you apply lip liner to your whole lip, not just the edges, it helps lipstick adhere and last a lot longer. Clear or flesh-toned liners can be used on the outside to prevent bleeding/feathering. Also, layering a lipstick with a different colored liner (ie pink lipstick and purple liner) can create a new shade and expand the range of colors without additional products.
