So, I have really prominent forehead lines that annoy the crap out of me. I was wondering if there are any products that I could use to help minimize their appearance?

Thanks!!

What are you currently using in your skincare routine?

Hi Leuca,
I use Simple gentle exfoliator, neutrogena hydrating face wash. The PTR unwrinkle pads (when I remember). Aztec clay when I mask.
Argan oil and cerave cream.

Is the CeraVe cream an SPF product?

Nope it's the moisturizing cream in the tub. I only use at night. In the day (if I remember) I use garnier gel moisturizer

It's More than likely hereditary. Not too much you can do to make a significant other than botox. Regular exfoliation, retin A or some other retinol product will help a little. But also facial expression has a major part in forehead wrinkles. Making a surprised expression and also some girls will crinkle their forehead when applying mascara. Just be conscious of that and try to minimize the crinkling you make. Keeping the skin moisterized and plump will help minimize the wrinkles and of course sunscreen.

Thank you Marleen. I've had these for as long as I can remember and unfortunately I'm very expressive! Lol. Are there any retinol products you'd recommend? I use my simple exfoliator every day or so.

The obvious and most expensive is the rx strength retin A. Over the counter, ROC, Skinceuticals are effective ones. And Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti Wrinkle cream is a good starter one as it is not as strong as the aforementioned ones. Starting slowly and with milder retinols is recommended in the beginning to acclimate your skin to it. Some people are extremely sensitive to retinols. And you must wear a sunscreen when youre in the sun, because it will make your skin extra sensitive and burn much more easily. Starting slowly will minimize the chances of going through the scaly, peely phase that a lot of people experience when they start on retinols because they tend to slather it on like a moisterizer in the beginning, which is a huge mistake.

Roc makes a instant smoothing gel product that kind of fills them in I guess. It feels like a silicone primer but it really seems to make mine look less deep. I don't even want to walk out the door without it on even on no makeup days:)

Paula's Choice has some higher strength retinol products, but nothing is going to give same results as a prescription retinoid.

Alternatively you can have laser resurfacing done if botox makes you uncomfortable.

Thank you all!! I'm going to look into all your suggestions. I'd rather treat it at home. And knowing that it's genetic, I would rather get some good core skin care items to treat/prevent.

Have you tried castor oil? My sister is using it daily to get rid of forehead wrinkles. Or you can use aloe vera, it will keep the skin well moisturized. I was too lazy to apply all this so I underwent botox treatment from a clinic in Richmond Hill ( http://www.thecentrefordermatology.com/procedures/anti-aging/botox-cosmetic/ )and I'm happy with the result. You should take good care of your skin or else your aging will be fast. lol..

Or if castor oil is too thick try vit E oil, here in the UK I buy it off amazon.
