I just got my belly button pierced! I was wondering if you guys had any tips+tricks and good places to buy new rings after the 6 weeks is up.

You should be waiting at least 6 months, preferably around 9-10 months before changing your jewelry, and even then you should only be changing it to a smaller bar if needed, nothing with any extra weight. It needs to be fully healed or you're just going to prolong the healing process and risk infection, irritation, keloids, rejection etc.
Make sure you avoid swimming, baths or any pool of water that you'll sit in for at least two months, and rinse every day with a saline solution. Don't use any alcohol, fragrant lotions, soaps or anything other than saline solution on it. Don't touch it or play with it, you do not need to turn it at all. Let it heal on its own and don't touch it unless you are cleaning it, in which case you should just be holding a shot glass of saline to it and letting it soak without handling your piercing.
Avoid tight clothing or anything that will rub near your belly button, don't sleep on your belly, and make sure you keep the rest of your body in good health so it can heal.

From my experience, I would recommend to wait longer than 6 weeks, mine got infected when I changed it at 8 weeks. If you ever find yours does get sore or infected, definitely go for a belly bar that is made from plastic (they still have the silver/gold bling at the ends of the bar). I've always got my piercings from Essential Beauty :) but if you find you never have problems with infections due to the belly bars material, eBay has heaps and heaps 😊

I get all my belly button rings from the piercing pagoda (usually a kiosk in the mall) they have the best ones and I don't like cheapo ones these are $50-$120 but they are really classy looking. They allllways have sales though so never pay full price!

Plastic is porous and will trap bacteria. Surgical steel or titanium are the safest options for surface piercings. Alyx has covered pretty much everything; if you have further questions you should ask a reputable piercer (hopefully yours is included in that umbrella).

I changed mine since the 3rd day I got it but I don't recommend changing it before 3 months but I'm a risk taker & a crazy person

@emily W, I didn't know that about plastic versus steel and titanium! That's so strange coz I always get infections with steel and titanium but not with plastic?! Do you know why? (Sorry I'm not trying to take away from your post Naomi!!) 😊

If you have metal sensitivities, it is possible that your body reacts to the metal bars by trying to reject the piercing. My ears are that way, no matter what metal I use. If the plastic works for you, use it, just make sure to keep them properly sanitized. Once the piercing has fully healed, it is less likely to get an infection overall.
