The past few weeks, my hair has been getting excessively oily. I wash my hair at night with Suave color treated shampoo and apply a tiny bit of conditioner, by the next morning I feel my hair getting oily already.. I don't understand what the problem is or how to solve it. I wash/scrub my hair good as well, so I know that's not the problem. Help me please! I hate oily hair.
Thank you in advance ☺️

Are you applying your conditioner to your roots or just through your ends?

When my hair gets excessively oily, it's usually hormones or the shampoo I'm using isn't good for my hair type. How long ago did this happen and did you start using this shampoo recently?

@Alexis I just apply it to through the ends.

@Lenox-mae It started after I got my hair dyed which was about a month ago, I've used this shampoo before and I've never had this problem

@lenora yeah, maybe I will try a sulfate free shampoo. any good ones that you recommend?

The person who did your hair either left the dye in too long or did something to damage it. Try Joico K-Pac Reconstruct shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioner also. I did some searching and they said this worked. It has keratin which will help to reconstruct the damaged hair. The products are pretty expensive so you could do research on your own for the product. I hope this helps! ❤

Sounds like it is purely coincidence that your hair started getting oily after color. also, that is not a sign of damage. damaged hair would feel dry, dull and brittle. It would break off or feel like cotton candy. Not an oily scalp. much like your face, when your scalp is dry it over produces oil. so that means over washing your will actually make your scalp more oily. try going every other day and in between out your hair in a pony tail. your scalp will adjust to this and eventually start to produce less oils. also, stop using suave or any store bought stuff for that matter. suave for color treated hair is still going to strip the color right out of your hair. look into pureology hydrate shampoo and conditioner. Redken, joico, and aveda are other great options.

Or, re reading this, it is possible that the color dried your scalp out (which is normal seeing as it's a chemical) and your current shampoo is drying it out even more. still try pureology hydrate. It is more expensive but very concentrated so you do not need that much and one bottle will last you a long time.
