Hello! I keep going back and forth on trying the RCMA no color translucent powder. Has anyone on here tried it? I'd like to see both pros ans cons of the product.

Depends on your skin type.

The Pros are that it's finely milled, feels lights on the skin, is effective in setting foundation, and photographs beautifully. If you enjoy going matte...this can easily be perfection for you. (It does look nice even taken down a bit with Fix+ )

The only con, for me, aside from the container (which is easy to swap out) is that I find it extremely drying, Talc is not my friend as I tend to run very dry. Dry and very dry are quite different and I feel like people often just blur the two. I do not feel this is a good fit for very dry skin or for setting beneath the eyes if you have dry undereyes. The struggle is real...ugh.

I almost never powder or set my eyes unless it's summer and even then, it's rare, but I just don't ever reach for the RCMA powder anymore.

If that's not an issue for you; you'll probably love it.

I would second everything Rozberry said. I couldn't use this powder when I was recovering from dermatitis because it was drying.

I would say for oil control it's about a medium for me. It'll last maybe 3-4 hours before I get shiny, but I'm fine blotting rather than applying more powder.

Totally agree on the undereye dryness. It is works well for mattefying other areas like my oily T-zone but it makes my undereyes look parched. I switched to MAC Mineralize Skinfinish or NARS Crystal Powder to set my undereyes and it works so much better.

I'm so relieved to hear that I'm not the only one who struggles with that powder nonsense with the eyes. Even when the skin looks great and concealer is on point, (I barely wear any concealer and never right up directly under the eye)... but still, powder hits that area and it's like that part of my face stands out because it looks exactly that, "parched". That's a perfect description.

I bought Koh Gen Do and tried By Terry, Laura Mercier, and Mineral Veil and I just don't have it in me to keep fussing with these powders. I wear sheer to light coverage and I don't get oily, so I don't think I need anything most of the time, but it would be really nice to find something translucent to set the eye area now and again.

I will say that I am over the moon that I finally found a concealer that works with my own skin, but if I could find a powder, just for those rare days...that would be a dream. I daydream about that..and winning the Lottery...lol

Maybe I should look into the MAC if it works so well. Thanks so much for sharing that Jacqueline.

Leuca, what do you like? I have been peeking at Bare Minerals Hydrating Powder and Smashbox Halo, but I am just so hesitant. I saw there were some talc free formulations.

Cover FX makes a talc free "illuminating" setting powder. I found it was less drying than the RCMA, and they make a 10$ trial size that's perfect if you're just planning to use it under the eyes. Unless you're ghostly pale I doubt the lighter shade would be too dark.

Don't worry about the name; there's no glitter or shimmer in it. It's just not a flat finish.

Oh, great idea about the trial size. Thank you so much! I am ghostly pale at the moment...lol

Rozberry, I hope it works for you! It is such a beautiful powder and it doesn't cake up or settle into lines.

I bought a trial size of Laura Mercier Translucent Setting powder b/c everyone raves about it but I haven't tried it yet. I'll update you when I give a try.

I did try the Laura Brightening Powder and that was a fail as it really did highlight my dryness, but please, let me know how you enjoy the setting powder! Thank you so much. I have my eye on the Shiseido with the VIB sale starting this weekend...lol I will definitely try out that MAC my next visit to the store.  :)
