I've decided to invest in the Clarisonic Mia this week, but I had some last minute questions to hopefully seal the deal because I overanalyze everything, haha.
First of all, let me put it out there that my skin is pretty normal. I don't really get dry or oily, and I wouldn't consider my skin sensitive.
Sometimes I get zits here and there, usually on the forehead, chin/jaw, or the inner cheeks. They aren't terrible, but I do have to cover them up and I would like to see them go away. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't expect the Clarisonic to be a magic wand that gets rid of all my breakouts for the rest of forever, and I do know to expect a purging stage, but I just would like to be reassured that it will greatly improve my skin as far as breakouts and uneven skintone go since it is a bit of an investment.

I love my Clarisonic Mia2.. I got it a lil after Christmas with a Macy's gift card that my aunt gave me. Trust me I debated a lot lol I could have bought so many other things with that gift card but I ended up getting it and not one day have I regret it. But I have had to exchange the first one that I originally got bcz it was a bad one it wouldn't charge completely. But it's been days that I've used mine and i love it. But of course I paired it up with philosophy purity one step cleanser and omg lol awesome couple 😍😍😍😍😍

If any of you experienced the "purging" that a lot of people say happens at first, how long did it take for that to start? I've used it twice and I feel like my skin is already starting to purge. The sooner the better I guess.

I bought the Mia2 last month. I love it! I havent experienced much of the purging at all b/c I eased into it by using it once in a few days-5 days, letting more days go by & working up to nightly using the gentle brush head. If you press it on your skin with too much pressure, use it too long or too often it can over cleanse/over dry your skin leading to excess oil production irritation & breakouts. I LOVE it & am glad I purchased it;) How are you liking it so far??
Jan 12, 2013
Kaysey L.
Yeah I'm using the sensitive brush heads and I just touch it against my face and let it do the work so I don't think I'm being too harsh or anything. I think I like it so far, my face definitely feels cleaner than when I just wash it with my fingers and a cleanser. And a big thing I noticed is that my face actually continues to feel clean hours after using it instead of just for 15 minutes and then feeling kind of yuck again.

What is purging?

Hi Kasey, I bought the Mia as a last resort after I started developing some bad acne on my cheeks. It took a little time to modify my routine to find what works best for my skin. I originally used the Sensitive brush head once a day and my skin it worse. I stopped using it but after reading some other experiences I purchased the Delicate brush. I use it nightly with Philosophy's Purity cleanser and my skin has been the clearest it's been in months. I still have small blemishes here and there, but i attribute that to stress and my job (I'm an assistant and am on the phone a lot). In short, it's great once you find the best cleanser/brush combo for your skin.
