Now Maybelline has announced Manny as one of thier stars. What dose everyone think about these instagram/youtubers making this campaigns? Most of them have no real licenses to even practice makeup on a person. Dose it devalue real MUAs who paid to study to legally make this a career? Most ppl don't even know who Kevin Aucoin, Frank Westmore,Vivian Baker is.. but can quickly identify an instagramer "mua".

I think its unfair for the people that really work there ass of to get where they are, some of these Internet famous people don't know what there doing and only know how to work with there own face but not know smack about working with other people, the cherry on top to all this masa is that they pick people with little credibility like this foo you posted up that foo does nothing but run his mouth yet he's getting big bucks to pretend to be something he's not.

and to add to it, mannyNONmua can't even work on his own face, forget someone else's. lol he is such a horrid person! but then again maybelline isn't the most ethical of brands anyways. I'm just disappointed bad people get so much recognition, Their bad act get the dismissals they should get themselves.

I don't know much about Manny specifically, but I do agree, I think it's not fair to people who work so hard, and spend so much time an money. Who study, and learn as much as they can, to hopefully obtain that goal, then they give it to someone, who like Aleena said, can barely even work on their own face, much less someone else's, and only know what social media has taught them, and don't get me wrong, YouTube/ social media can be good sources for information to people who are just doing it for fun on their own faces, and don't really plan to go anywhere, I am not against YouTube/ social media. But I do agree with you ladies on this, it's not fair to do this to people who work so hard😶

I think they are doing this just to show political correctness which is a terrible reason. Like previously said, manny 'non' Mua (lol Aleena) has no experience meanwhile people with years of experience and who worked to get here aren't known like he is. Also James Charles is so obnoxiously annoying every time I see that covergirl commercial I get angry, lol.

I don't like him as a person. I personally don't think that he's that amazing at makeup looks. I can see why Maybelline and Covergirl would go with a "non professional" I feel like Drugstore brands are catered to regular people, non MUA.

I'm getting fed up in general of all these little trumped up ill manned one trick ponies in general getting well above their station and being generously rewarded. Many of these You Tuber's behaviour is quite unbecoming and crass, and they don't have the skill set or manners of Pat McGrath, Lisa Eldridge, Kevyn Aucoin, Francoise Nars, etc, and they probably never will. It's the same with the nepo-models like Kendal Jenner and GiGi Hadid, do you think 20 years ago they could compete without the digital marketplace and Mummy against true gorgeous professionals like Kate Moss in her prime, Cindy Crawford, Karen Mulder?

We're in 2017 and yet most of these major companies will slap a YouTuber Make up enthusiast on their names but still won't formulate foundation shades for women of color and women who are pale. Just the typical fair, medium and dark that barely matches anyone. That's what they need to focus on!!

I totally agree that makeup is an art form and that it should be used by anyone male of female and it is 100% socially acceptable. However it isn't fair that these YouTube stars are making millions and are not even real artists, I mean sure with all the high tech equipment out there anyone can photo shop a video or a picture and there makeup look amazing, but it's not fair to all the real artists out there that put all there hard work, sweat and tears into making a career for themselves while these people call themselves MUAS. I don't buy anything personally that is promoting these personalities, most of these YouTube stars have very poor attitudes and are quite nasty to a lot of there fans. My daughter is always asking me why I don't buy these palettes or liquid lipsticks etc.because she is only 15 and does not quite understand how I look at these issues, like stated above being a spokes model for say viva glam or estee edit etc.is okay because the quality is still the same in the products. But I do not condone slander and meanness towards people which is why I refuse to buy products that are spacificially made for the you tuber etc. I mean kyle Jenner honestly I will not for the life of me buy anything from her company or from Jefree Star either for that matter. I don't knock people for what they like but I just stand by my own feelings.

@Charli Kate Moss has had a 25 year career as a model, and she was groundbreaking at the time since she was a waif, petite, not "supermodel" gorgeous like Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista or Christy Turlington, but had that it factor and was very versatile. I don't think a good deal of these You Tube MUA's will stand the test of time like the Pat's, the Francoise, Lisa et al, and yes, they have dreadful manners, ethics and professionalism. Plus they haven't slogged all the shows or been classically trained so they don't know all the proper techniques they can use, or build upon to become a world class MUA.

I just have one question for everyone? Food for thought maybe? When did being an "artist" only become acceptable with formal training and recognition in the global art community? I personally can think of a lot of artists whose art was never recognized while they drew breath.

@Kelly it's professional standards and credibility if you are commanding an above normal day rate for services rendered. What's wrong with a little extra mentoring or schooling? It will only help the person when they are no longer the it artist of the moment.

I agree eith Kim on the Drugstores going for nin professionals as their target customers are non professionals... as for Manny I personally enjoy watching him and his bubbly personality. He is fit for that campaign? I'm not a MUA and therefore can't judge of that at all.
