I really love the look of red lipstick, but I can never find a shade that looks good on me! Anyone have some suggestions, or what their favorite is?

If you like matte there's my personal favorite which is NARS velvet matte lip pencil in Cruella. A beautiful red and has great staying power

Reds can be very tricky. A good way to get a ballpark of what shades you may like is to hold jewelry up to your face-- if you prefer how gold looks with your skin tone, try orange or pink based reds. If you prefer silver, blue based reds may be better for you. There is a lot of trial and error when it comes to red because it's so bold and a shade that doesn't work or that you don't feel comfortable in will be pretty obvious. I like Rimmel Kate Moss 01 and 11, and Stila Liquid Lip Color in Fiery. Two gloss options that are opaque are NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Perfect Red and Illamasqua Intense Lip Gloss in Succubus. You may also want to try out a more sheer gloss or lip stain in a red color first to get used to it before you just jump into full-on red. Good luck!

I'd recommend MUFE's Aqua Rouge in 8 Iconic Red. It's a universally flattering shade and will literally last you all day. It's pricey but you'll only need to use it once per application so it'll last.

I agree with Courtney--it depends on your skintone. I have very cool, pale skin so I have to use blue-based reds. Orange and pink based reds make me look like a clown. MAC has several different kinds of reds, so you should go and ask them!

Do you have warm undertones or cool?? If you are warm go for a orangey red, if your cool go for a pinkish red. Taylor Swift wears Hot by Covergirl if that is the look you want.
