Try curling someone else's hair to give you more practice, then practice more on yourself.

I always do one side great then the other side sucks! I use my straightener to curl my hair. It holds a lot longer and looks great

Buy Babyliss You Curl curlers, stay in for days and you can change the type of curl you want, as well as straightening :)

See, I disagree with the curling wand thing, Samantha B. I cannot seem to use one without burning my fingers, and I've been curling my hair since I was a little girl! Of course, I've been walking since I was a little girl, too, and can't seem to do that without tripping over my own feet. ;-)

Try a curling wand like the Remington pearl because it has a protective glove so that you don't burn your fingers but that won't help the rest of your body getting burned.
Places I've been burned: fingers, forehead, neck, hand, elbow lol :)

Try not to wash your hair the same say as curling it, wash your hair a day or two before, it makes it easier :)

I'd like some more information. Are you crimping it by accident? Is the curl not staying around long enough? Is the curl misshapen? Is the curl not going in the right direction? What exactly is the problem?

I have naturally wavy hair so I use a good gel put It in after the shower than take a towel and from tips to top scrunch ur hair with the towel and u won't get sticky stiff curls:) it works like magic for me:)

Okay. My hair is as fine and straight as it gets. But I found a miraculous way to curl it and it stays ALL DAY! 1) spray hair all over with hairspray VERY LIGHTLY 2) instead of clamping and curling hair, take It with your hand and wrap you hair in small pieces around the barrel. PS if you need to, spray each individual piece 3) flip hair over and spray again 4) let it settle itself while putting on makeup or something (: hope it helped. FOR TUTORIAL ON HOW TO CURL IT: there are a ton of videos on YouTube on this just search: curl hair with wand
