Breast Implants? Serious Consideration.

I'm not sure if a topic like this is allowed here so if it's not I'm very sorry!

For the last few years I've been toying with the idea of getting breast implants and lately I've been seriously considering it.

I'm a B cup and if I do decide to get implants I want to just go one cup size up to a C.

I'm interested in hearing personal stories about down/recovery time, pain and pain management, the procedure and recovery process, etc. So any information that you can offer is greatly appreciated!

PLEASE DO NOT tell me not to get surgery, to love myself, blah, blah, blah. I appreciate the concern and the love but this is my body, my self image, and my self esteem. I'm putting a lot of thought into this.

Thank you, Sydney! Once I make my final decision on whether or not I'm going to get them I'll put a lot of time into researching surgeons (:

Have you considered trying out the Victoria Secret Bombshell bra?
I was in the same place as you were and so adamant that I was going to get a boob job... But that bra has made the biggest difference for me. I'm okay with spending $60 on it and getting boob job results. I really recommend trying it out first and see what you think of it.. You may just turn out like me - wearing it for those certain dresses or tops that need a nice set to compliment it and that's my winner.

Check out the real self website - it has the best real reviews and you can even see work done by surgeons in your area -I am getting a nose job and that website has been a lifesaver

I got them done about 5 years ago. Was off work for a week, but was about a month before they were fully healed. They'll be pretty swollen and tight, have to be careful pushing/pulling with your arms and youll need to do massaging exercises to prevent scar tissue. I have incision scars but they are underneath so you can't see them, and they are perfectly flat so you can't feel them either. I was only on painkillers for a week and if I didn't miss a dose the pain wasn't too bad. I had 1 day of nausea. What surprised me was how restricted with my arms I had to be... couldn't open the pill bottle myself, or open a door, even sit up in bed (I slept in a recliner for first couple nights). I don't regret getting mine done at all, its something I wanted to do for a very long time and am very happy with the results.

Kitty, I already wear push up bras all the time and I'm very unhappy with knowing that my breasts only look like that because of the bra I'm wearing regardless of the outfit I have on (:

Thank you, Kelly!

Thank you so much, Princess! (:

One thing you might consider is if you're too young to be done growing. I always wanted implants, but I seriously grew a cup size and a half when I was 24 (I did gain some weight, but my breasts grew more than the weight gain would contribute). I found out it's possible to grow bustier even in your early 20s.

I had them done 8 years ago I got saline implants I was on a pain pump for 2 days pain killers for a wk after that and I hardly even took them it wasn't had at all. the worst part was since they were saline they went thru my armpit which was good for scarring but bad for trying to drive for like a wk and a half until the stitches were taken out..pain not bad compared to the payoff if you are super sure you want them...I have no regrets.

Stephanie, that's something I'll discuss with my doctor if I choose to get the implants (:

Definitely agree with Stephanie! I was a 36B forever and within the past year (I'm almost 22) I grew a lot and I'm suddenly a 36D. I didn't really gain much weight recently so my guess is I was just a (really) late bloomer.

My sister got hers done a few years ago and she wasn't out of work more than a week or so and everything went amazing! Now she's breast feeding my nephew (if you're thinking about kids and that would ever come up) her scars healed flat, basically invisible. She went from an A to a full C.

If you only want to go up one cup size a good push up bra would do the job. Also I know a lot of people (like myself) experience going up a cup size when they're on birth control.

Dana and Shauna, I'm 22, on birth control, and I have a super fast metabolism so I really don't gain weight. Also, as I said, I already wear push up bras (:

Thank you again, Brittany!

Cassidy, thank you! Unfortunately I can't have children of my own so breastfeeding and changes in my body and breasts during pregnancy aren't something I have to worry about (:

I agree on going on the REAL SELF SITE. They have all plastic surgery stories of women who have had it done and some who will include their journey from pre-op to post-op and beyond. And most will post their pics of before, healing process and after. Do your research and know that if you decide to do this, it's not going to be just one surgery. There is always a chance you may need to have a re-do due to complications and also since they don't last forever, you will need to change them out somewhere between every 10-20 years generally speaking, and that's with no complications. And whatever you do, don't get textured implants, I don't even know if they have those anymore. But a very good friend had those and when she had to have them removed, they were stuck to her ribcage.

Thank you, Marleen! I was browsing Real Self a bit earlier and I have it bookmarked so if I do decide to get the implants I'll already have the website ready. I'm also aware that they'll have to be replaced and it's in my thoughts and considerations as I decide as well (:

Hey Alexis. I have never gotten the chance to get breast implants. I was contemplating whether I should do it or not but then I realized a few things. First, when I started to eat more, they grew a lot more, like a lot without undergoing any surgery. Next, I watched some videos about women complaining of back pain. Either from having big natural breasts or from implants. They would complain from back pain and how heavy the breast it. Next, I heard on the news that a woman got an infection there due to implants because I think you have to change them or something like that every so often. Before considering on going to that opinion, first see if you are willing to take the risks and discomfort.
Love,
Miri

Miri, I've already considered the possible back pain and I've had surgery before so I know there's always a possibility of complications and that woman you mentioned seemed to not have taken the proper steps (getting the implants changed when she needed to) so really she's done that to herself. I've also said multiple times before in this thread that I really don't gain weight therefore my breasts don't get any bigger on their own.
