So I recently became interested in beauty blenders.. I want to get one but does it really make a difference in your makeup? Also are the dupe real technique ones any different from the actual beauty blenders?

In my opinion, no. I do think the dupes work exactly the same but, I prefer brushes or using my fingers, rather than using sponges.

The dupes are nowhere near the same.

I didn't think the beauty blenders were anything special when I first got them and I had them lying around for months before I started using them.

I'm not kidding when I say they changed my kit/my application... My life? lol I use them on my clients and their skin looks perfect.

The dupes are often very solid and don't bounce on the skin. BBs are super soft and glide along without putting all the product in one part of your face.

A lot of people will say they're the same- but I honestly don't know how you could think that if you've actually tried the beauty blender.

I love my beauty blender, especially for applying concealer undereyes, works better than a brush or finger in my opinion

I've never tried the actual beauty blender but have nothing but love for the real techniques version.

I love love love the beauty blender!! I use to think it was an overpriced sponge but it's really not. Nothing works better than it, not even a brush

The beauty blender is unlike any dupe I've tried. It's FANTASTIC! When I FINALLY bought it I was ready for it to be extremely overrated, but it's not!! It lives up to its hype!

It is absolutely worth it, but atleast my sephora dupe is equally as good - and a lot cheaper. Other dupes have been good, not exactly the same but nearly. I definitely recommend! The real one & sephoras

A really good dupe that I've tried is the one Wayne Goss mentioned which is the Barely Cosmetics Prep, Blot and Blend which has that egg shape, it's white and is quite the dupe.

Overall, do I think the actual beauty blender is worth it?
No. It's a $20 sponge.
Sponges wear out and have to be replaced by the time you hit the second beauty blender you're already getting to the price of a brush.
Mind you, a few brushes can give the same effect and when taken cared of, they last years.

Beauty blenders have to be replaced 6-8 months but for some it can last up to a year it depends on how often you use it.
Some people replace it every 3-4 months to prevent having to deal with the mold issue.

I would just get the real techniques one. its a sponge thats 20 dollars sponge wear and tear even if you take care of it correctly.

I would just get the real techniques one. $20 on a sponge is not worth it in my opinion!

Try the Precisso sponge! Much better dupe, imo. Same shape, and it's a lot softer/bouncier.

I have used the RT sponge and after a couple weeks I just put it down. I didn't find that it made a huge difference. It sat in my makeup bag for months until I finally threw it out. As for my BB sponge - I am in love. Before hand I thought it would be the biggest waste of $. But to be honest, it's probably one of my favourite purchases. I've had it for a month now and use it nearly everyday. It blends out my makeup so much better than my brushes or fingers do. But it's all personal preference. I just highly doubt I would ever go back to the RT sponge.

I felt $20 was ridiculous for a sponge until I actually caved and bought it. Honestly to me no dupes are alike. A lot of knock offs I find are way too dense and like someone said, do not bounce off the skin nicely. The real techniques one is so light that I like it for blending out my concealer only. The beauty blender is a perfect texture and density that it blends everything out beautifully. Worth it to me

I'm probably the oddball out but I hate the beauty blender.. lol I had extremely high hopes for it and have tried everything to get it to work for me, expecially after spending 20$ on a sponge & hearing how "amazing" it is. I've tried it dry, I've tried wetting it.. but still find it to apply my foundation/concealer super patchy & uneven, not to mention it absorbed all of my product :/ I've also tried it with 3 different foundations thinking that was the problem but they all seem to cling to the sponge and not transfer to my skin? Lol I was so desperately wanting it to work but ended up getting frustrated & trashing it. I really don't understand how it's become such a trendy, well loved product. I'll definitely be sticking to my flat top kabuki!

I really love the beauty blender. It's really good for applying foundation. The only downside is that you have to spend a lot of money for it plus cleaning supplies just for the blender. But still worth it to me.

I bought a $7 blender from real techniques and then splurged on the real deal and literally saw no difference.

I get mine from tj maxx for like 5 dollars & then used a real one and to me there wasn't a difference so I would say it's not worth it, especially when there are so many different cheaper options

Yes beauty blenders are must in your makeup kit! Makes your foundation go a lot more smooth and concealer too. You will love it ☺️

I like my beauty blender for my concealer, on days that I actually wear it; but I just use brushes or dollar store sponges for the most part. If you want some good quality inexpensive brushes I suggest looking at Morphe; however I hear that for a bit more bdellium brushes are the way too go quality wise (if you still don't want your wallet to cry). To be completely honest I am loving my elf stippling brush, it's 3 dollars and has so far lasted me about 4 months with no shedding or issues in general. Below is a picture wherein I used that brush for my foundation. Picture has no filters or retouching. Anyway, hope you get the advice you're seeking doll. Have a great day!
