All of a sudden these past couple days I have been breaking out really bad on my back and chest. I have never gotten chest or back acne before. I am freaking out! What can I do to get rid of them other then washing them with my cleanser?

Loofah. Replace it once a week. Make sure you change out of any sweaty clothing as soon as possible.

Have you changed your soap or anything? it may be a reaction or maybe just hormones. when this happens I think its best to use a really soft unscented soap like dove or something.

If you buy one of those bath scrubbers ( I don't know what they're called.) They're like those long sticks that you can use to wash with on your back so it's easier to reach. 😂 Anyways I used to have bacne and using a washcloth just want enough but using one of those things has definitely helped and I don't have any more pimples.

Are the breakouts whiteheads or red and blotchy raised areas? This may well be a serious reactive dermatitis instead of an acne situation. In that case you can use a topical Cortaid cream (low dose steroids) for relief as long as there isn't any broken skin. I would see a dermatologist if you can because you may need stronger meds! If it truly is acne, it may be contributed to by a new hair product- I've seen that with some clients before. Murad's Clarifying Body Spray is good for maintenance of breakouts in those areas. I also love the Acnedote body scrub from Alba Botanica for excess oil and dead skin cell buildup, and it is not as drying as other salicylic products. Wishing you fast healing!

I've dealt w/ chest acne and back acne for like, 4 years. For one, start exfoliating more often on problem areas. I find that smoother skin makes clearing up the left over scarring a lot easier!

You might already do this, but also wash your hair and all first, then wash and rinse your body. I used to do my hair last and that would sometimes contribute to a flare up.

Get a back facial from an esthetician, if there's any cosmetology or esthetic school near you call them and ask about one, it will really help.

Use a sugar scrub to exfoliate the areas to remove any dead skin that may cause build-up and clogged pores, and look into a Salicylic Acid Wash such as Body Clear Body Wash by Neutrogena. Also, as stated before make sure that you're not just having an allergic reaction to a product that you had been using. I also recommend washing your hair regularly as the oil from your hair can cause you to break out as well. Another important thing to remember is that as you age your body goes through hormonal changes. Birth control can help with breakouts, but that's a fine line controversial thing and something you would need to discuss with your doctor.
