So I went to the dermatologist yesterday to see if they could help me with my acne and dry skin. The doctor helped me a lot but she said that it would be better to use mineral foundation rather than liquid foundation. I'm kind of nervous to try it since I've always stuck with liquid foundation. Which is better and what foundation do you use? 😊

I use cover fx mineral powder foundation. Doesn't aggravate my acne at all.

It's like bismuth dioxide or something haha. Yeah I tried bareminerals foundation which had the bismuth dioxide ingredient and it really aggravated my skin, so watch out for that! I have been looking at Alima pure mineral foundation and afterglow mineral foundation, they have great reviews but I haven't tried them.

Mineral foundation is actually great for dry skin! I actually switched to mineral foundations for the exact same reason you are considering it and it helped my acne a lot (but my Clarisonic helped even more...). I actually get wonderful coverage with powders and it looks better on me than most liquids do. I also will use concealer if I have blemishes or dark circles. The only problem I have found that is an issue with powders, is what brush I use. I recommend Tartes powder brush (sorry not exact sure of the name but it goes with their mineral powder), Sephora Pro #45 brush, and Elf Kabuki Brush (the professional collection, its about $6).
Here are the powders I recommend and you can ask for a couple of samples at Sephora that way you can see which one you like the best...
Bare Minerals Original
Merle Norman Mineral Powder. I really like this one, its just difficult to buy, because you have to get it in a Merle Norman store, so if you don't have one that could be a problem.
Tarte Mineral Powder
Philosophy (not sure on the name but its at Ulta)
Make sure you are moisturizing and using a primer too!
