I've had for about 6 months now & lost about 40% of hair just from my head. I've gone thru 3 sessions of steroid shots into my scalp, going onto my 4th in a couple days but only have gotten about 5% regrowth. I've been taking hair skin & nails , using Niokin , keeping my scalp extra clean and drinking tons of water but the hair loss seems to just be getting worse. I'm leaning very much toward shaving because of dealing of the struggles with trying to hide the bald areas. although I won't shave until I can't hide it anymore (which will probably be soon) but shaving or not, does anyone know anything that might help out maybe know somebody with alopecia? I know all about it like a crazy, to add to all of this I'm a hairdresser so there's not much more knowledge I can get about alopecia. just wondering if you guys know any good tricks to growing hair back or products? home remedies?

Hey fellow cosmetologist! My heart is heavy with this post. I'd love to help. So instead of Nioxin, redken put out a better hair regrowth system called Cerafill. I would try it. I just bought some to get fuller hair. But it actually had more FDA approvals than Nioxin. also try black Jamaican castor oil to stimulate your scalp...try that as many times as you wash your hair a week lije every 2 to 3 days. Try Hairfinity, I do take this n it is really amazing. I've noticed how fast, strong n the elasticity change in my hair became. also makes it thicker too. N sweetheart just remember how beautiful you are. Please let me know if you need any help.

I feel for you. You are so brave to endure illness with such optimism. I don't have any products to offer, but instead a shoulder if ever needed.

Although I don't suffer from Alopecia, I have another serious medical condition and the medicine I take makes my hair fallout in the same patterns as Alopecia does. So, I feel your pain and I know how devastating it can be to just always watch your hair fallout. I agree with everything Brooke said she's spot on! I'd also recommend making sure your scalp gets a lot of chances to just breathe. I had to do the wig thing for a while and it's important to not wear a wig or hat ALL the time as it can daamage your scalp. I'd also recommend not using harsh chemicals at all since you want your scalp to remain healthy so it can continue to grow hair that's as strong as possible. If you ever need anything even if it's just someone to talk to always feel free to reach out on here. I understand how difficult this has to be for you and I would hate to see you struggle alone :)

I also have alopecia areata , it sucks I know. 😞
But Try to not stress about it, I've had it for about 4 years now. My bald patches come and go. It's so frustrating. I can't afford treatments right now I'm just hoping it will regrow on its own. Keep us updated on your situation. Please, it would help a lot. I'm sorry I couldn't help you as much as I would like.

Cindy try the cheaper rout. Get black Jamaican castor oil n rub throughout your scalp 3xs a week with your head upside down. Taking prenatal vitamins also have the effect as Hairfinity. I hope you ladies find this helpful. Keep your beautiful heads up.?

Youre welcome. I know Sallys has it Ulta and I think cvs too. I believe Shea Moisture puts out a shampoo of it too. I suggest that whole line cause it'll really grow your hair.
