Is it good for oily acne skin? Daily use?

That particular scrub contains pieces that are far too harsh for the skin, causing micro-tears in the skin. I highly suggest staying away from it.

Alexis is right, one of the worst products for your face.

I love and adore the product it is honestly amazing. I don't have oily acne skin, I have somewhat sensitive, combination skin and it does what it claims to do. The pieces in the scrub arnt to harsh for me and I acully love the way it makes my skin feel however like Alexis said they may be harsh for you. Maybe try looking at the other scrubs that the company dose. I know there's a tea tree one and a oatmeal one too. Hopefully they are just as good!

I wouldn't recommend it for daily use its too harsh. I use it once maybe twice a week. I don't put a lot of pressure on my hands so it doesn't scratch my skin. I like it I've been using it for years

The apricot scrub uses jagged beads, which creates micro tears in the skin and contribute to a lot of long term damage and irritation.
For oily acneic skin, a chemical exfoliant would be way more beneficial.
They are much more gentle than a physical scrub and actually exfoliate deep into the pore to help de-gunk them and helps pores appear smaller. They also help even out skin tones and acne marks, and help hydrate and soften wrinkles. They are seriously the best!
I personally use the Paula's choice 2% liquid BHA (The extra strength).
Her line offers plenty of different versions.. creams.. liquid.. serums. I highly recommend trying out some samples and seeing if you like it

Personally, I enjoy the apricot scrub. It's not too harsh and when I was using it I did see a difference in skin, especially for the skin on my nose which is tougher for some reason, plus my nose contains most of my blackheads when I do get them. I feel like I get a good clean when I use the apricot scrub versus a softer beaded scrub.

I personally use it and love it. It causes no irritation and leaves my skin feeling clean and soft. As for it causing micro tears in the skin..I honestly havent seen any effects but I don't know what my skin looks like in a microscope

It is the best thing to happen to my skin. I've tried using gentler products because I heard that it was too harsh for the skin. I broke out immediately. St.Ives Apricot Scrub has helped keep my face clear and radiant for several years. If definitely is not too harsh for your skin as long as you don't rub it into your skin like you're grating cheese. Take it from someone with sensitive skin. This is a fantastic product and I have never had an issue with it :) I believe it could work for your skin type too :)

It also leaves your skin feeling so nice and smooth and just fresh you may wanna try the pink grapefruit one because it smells so good and its not as full on as the apricot one, the apricot one is for more a full one face scrub if you've got really bad skin and stuff but the pink grapefruit one is one I reccomend for you

I personally didn't care for it. I agree with the ladies on the micro-tears, but then again, a lot of products I have used are probably not the most beneficial for my skin. Honestly, disregarding the micro-tears, I still don't think it's some amazing product. Yes, it exfoliates, but any product with those beads is going to exfoliate and I found it a little harsh and it didn't feel good. Plus, I haven't really noticed much of a difference in acne.

A lot of people are saying that this product can be harmful to skin. I think that with any exfoliant some damage is done no matter how minimal. If you use this product with care and extremely gently you will be fine. While there may be better exfoliants, this is a cheaper option.

I used to feel the same way..even up until a few years ago. I get it, I really do, but you don't need a microscope to detect the effects of microtearing. When you get micro tears, you are exposing your skin to bacteria...you actually make your skin more prone to irritation. And years of microtears add up and you are essentially compromising the integrity of your skin. You are making it more susceptible to sun damage as well. You are aging your skin for the sake of softness now. You need to look at this from the bigger picture. Why risk it when there are other amazing alternatives that will improve your skin?
I implore you to read this. If you still want to use it afterward, I respect that, but at least make that choice as an educated decision.

That's an awesome article Rozberry. I personally am a big fan of babying my skin... no need to damage it for a temporary effect to later pay for it in the future.. especially when there are alternatives that don't come with any cons. There was an article I used to have saved previously discussing the effects of it.. along with a personal story of a poor young lady who ended up getting an infection from using that actual scrub :(

Oh wow! I had always thought that this scrub was one of the best on the market without microbeads, I've been using it for a few months now. Before I was using it every day and before long I noticed more acne than before.. Micro tears now make sense. I only use it maybe once a month now but I will definitely consider throwing it in the trash. Thank you!!
