Shimmery eyeshadow transfers onto crease, help.

Whenever I apply a matte eyeshadow in my crease and a shimmery eyeshadow on my eyelid, throughout the day the shimmery eyeshadow transfers onto my crease. I use an eyeshadow primer. How can I keep the shimmery shadow on my lid and not my crease?

What kind of eyeshadow primer do you use? And also do you have oily eyelids? You can try using oil removing wipes before applying eyeshadow and then a primer, do your eyeshadow as normal and then top it off with a makeup setting spray

I have very hooded eyes and I haven't experienced that before. I use the Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer and that keeps everything in its place all day (:

I use the Urban Decay Primer Potion. I do have oily eyelids but I always wash my face before I do my makeup. Maybe I'll have to try a different primer. I love it since my makeup doesn't crease but I definitely notice the shimmery/satin finish transfer onto my crease.

I think it may not necessarily be the primer that's the issue.

Think about it like this, when you use glue and you'd put glitter in art class do you remember turning the paper over and all the excess glitter coming off but some of the glitter stuck on the glue?

It's essentially the same thing.
It's like... A small amount of the pigment get attached to the primer and there's excess pigment laying on the skin.

Now, you want your eyeshadow to be pigmented so instead of trying to dust of the excess you want to allow the powder to sort of mend with your skin.

You can just use something like Fix + which wets the powder and as the water evaporates the eyeshadow sort of mends better/lays flat with the primer this should help but if it doesn't then you may need something stronger like a sealing spray which will create a barrier so that the shimmer won't move around.
A good one would be the PPI blue marble selr spray

^ That's what I was thinking Aurora... I have had luck only by using a good sealing spray and patting it with a flat paddle brush on the lid.

I have hooded eyes so this happens to me all the time. If I'm using a shimmery shade on the lid I use a glitter glue first and then the shimmery eyeshadow doesn't budge. I use the elf glitter glue and it works really well.

I do not have hooded eyes at all however I just use the Mac select cover up concealer and set with a translucent powder or a Mac paintpot. I would just recommend after priming your eyes with a light matte eyeshadow or face powder.
