Hello! I just joined Ipsy and got put on the waiting list. I was wondering if there is anyone that has joined Ipsy within the last several months that also got put on the waiting list. And if you don't mind sharing, how long did it take for you to get off the waiting list?

I was on a waiting list for about 2 or 3 weeks. I've only had one bag so far. It was ok. Gonna keep it for a few more months to decide if I want to keep it. I'm planning on getting Glossy Box soon.

I signed up at the end of July, and received the August bag, so not long at all. I also don't have Facebook so I couldn't share to get off the waiting list sooner, but I was only on there for a couple of days anyways and got the next bag, so it was fine. Not sure if you'll get the January bag since mine is supposed to ship probably in the next day or two... So you might end up with the February bag.

Now here is my overall experience with review and I hope it doesn't seem negative! I have a love/hate relationship with Ipsy, and here's why...

Pros:
1. Cute Bag! I seriously love the bags, they are the perfect size to throw in my purse because they are small and usually thin. Some people think they are too small, but I love them. And they are always super cute! Novembers bag was definitely my favorite! Honestly the main reason I actually keep subscribing is for the bag, not necessarily the products it contains...

3. Its like getting a present from myself every month!

4. The price.

Cons:

1. I seem to never get what I want, no matter how many times I write reviews or recheck my quiz to see if I have that on there as products I don't want. For example skincare & haircare, I don't have it checked, but I always end up with some skincare or haircare product that I usually just throw away if I don't like it or I give it to my mom or something.

2. I rarely get any big brand product (well besides a smashbox and it cosmetics mascara) but in all the promos I see on blogs or ads online, is Urban Decay, Too Faced, etc. but I haven't really received much that I could go into Sephora and go buy. Nothing wrong with uncommon brands, but its a little deceiving to put those big brands out there in ads like thats going to be in the bag, and then its just mostly just unheard of brands that end up in the bags... Annoying, especially when you look at other subscription boxes that are not only putting those big beauty brands, but also putting full size versions in them too.

3. Promoting their company! Okay so I get it, they have to do it somehow, but for those of us who don't have social media, its VERY annoying that I can't see what is in my bag unless I share it on facebook. Not everyone has social media to share this and even if I did, its still annoying to have to do that. Like I'm paying for it, so why is it my job to promote their company?

Overall though, I do think the bag is "worth it" for the price. There's no way I could go out and buy those products (even if they are just travel size) and a cute cosmetic bag for the $10. BUT, if the bag was more than the $10, I would have unsubscribed after the first bag, but I would say that it is worth it for the price. As I mentioned earlier, its awesome getting a little gift in the mail every month. Its also nice trying new products that I normally wouldn't pick for myself but it is a little frustrating getting things I have repeatedly put that I don't want to receive again, and then get something exactly like it in the next bag. But other than that, its a cool concept, and I will keep subscribing for a while.

If I remember right I waited 3 to 4 months, like any beauty subscription there will be thibgs you like and don't but honestly I'm hqppy with ipsy qnd have found products that I have completly fallen in love with and have repurchased and can't let go of 😊
