I have darker skin, (medium/tan) and I was wondering what kind of shade of concealer to use for under eye circles? Should I get a exact match to my skin tone or a shade lighter? I'm planning on using Bobbi brown concealer kit. Also wondering if a shade lighter would work on blemishes.

Under eyes should be at least 1 shade lighter, although most choose 2 shades lighter. Your facial concealer should match your skintone exactly. And usually drier formulas work better on the face as opposed to under the eyes. You shouldnt ever use a lighter shade of a concealer on a blemish or on facial discoloration. You'll only be calling more attention to the problem.

You don't have to go a shade or two lighter under the eyes, that's more of a preference.
When it comes to blemishes it should match as closely as possible otherwise you'd be highlighting/making the blemish more noticeable.
On a daily basis I prefer my concealer to match as closely as possible.
I usually contour so using a lighter shade to emphasize isn't necessary to me

Going lighter brings out the features if you're trying to push back dark circles/bags use an orange tone corrector and a shade the same as your skin or one shade darker if anything if you blend well you it'll just disappear into your foundation

Don't go lighter under the eye with out color correcting first! Use an orange color correcter since you have darker skin under the eye to neutralize the dark circles then go over top of that with your regular foundation that matches your skin and after that bake or highlight or whatever you want to do. Lots of dark skin girls love the LA colors orange concealer for under the eye there's so many YouTube videos about it. I personally use an orangey colored cream blush under my eye, then foundation, then bake the under eye with Coty airspun loose powder then when I dust that of I put on blush and bronzer and contour. Then I buff my entire face with a mineral powder that matches my skin tone.
