Hi!
So I'm thinking of getting gray (maybe silver blue) peekaboo highlights and since it's my first time dyeing my hair, I thought I would ask for some advice!
What kind of upkeep should I expect?
What products should I use for aftercare?
Feel free to post any pics as well, since I'm still looking for the style I want :)
Thanks for all the help <3
p.s: my natural hair color is black, thick

You're going to have to bleach all the color out of your hair first, so I hope you're going to a professional and not doing it yourself.
Gray and silver fade extra fast because they are such pale colors so the upkeep is important to make the color last as long as possible but you'll definitely have to get it redone more often than other darker colors (pastels in general just fade quickly).
Wash your hair as little as you can, dry shampoo will be your best friend between hair washings. I love the Not Your Mothers Clean Freak Dry Shampoo.
For shampoo you need something sulfate free and color safe. When o got my purple done Shaye recommended the Bumble And Bumble Color Minded Shampoo and I loved it.
Since you're only getting peekaboos/highlights you'll also need a color safe and sulfate free shampoo. I haven't used the Bumble And Bumble Color Minded one but I'm sure it's just as good as the shampoo. I use the Overtone daily conditioners for my color but it's much easy to use those of you have a full head of color or an ombré since you'll want to put that conditioner on just the colored parts of your hair. I would still recommend looking into it if you're willing to section off your hair in the shower and use the Overtone conditioner on just the silver/gray areas (they have a silver conditioner). The Overtone conditioners are what really saved my purple.
