What does everyone use and recommend for face oils? Is Argan better than vitamin c? Are they even necessary?

I'm dry/combo skin Prone to clogged pores/blackheads. My skin is usually flushed, and I have dark (hereditary) circles under my eyes. I'm always looking for something to take away redness and dark circles as much as possible.

Vitamin c is more of a serum, not an oil. vitamin c helps with evening skin tone, splotches. I personally love Argan oil. it has softened my skin, helped with pore size, helped with fine lines.

I think Argan oil is better but I don't know some people like vitamin C better.

Vitamin c minimize sun damage, lightens brown spots, and boost collagen production. I think there's not a better oil it only depends on what your skin needs. I use rose hip in the mornings over my moisturizer, and vitamin c At night under my moisturizer. I hope the chart below helps

According to me Argan is better than the face oils. Argan contain essential fatty acids like oileic, linoleic, palmitic and other vitamins. All of them are anti-oxidants which are beneficial for the skin.

I like argan oil but it seems to break me out even though my skin type is very dry. My fave oils are the Peter Thomas Roth oilless oil which is squalane oil & Tarte maracuja oil. They are both pricey but last a VERY long time bc you need such a tiny amount to cover your whole face.

There's no best oil. They all have their own benefits assuming they're not actually just bad for the skin like peppermint/lavender/etc.

I do hear grapeseed/jojoba are great for people who have issues with their pores along with dryness, but I can't provide any personal experience as I don't really bother with oils directly in my skincare regimen; my face is quite oily.

I think something with vitiman c would be most beneficial for your skin. you say you have dry skin; vitiman c will help hydrate as well as brighten since dry skin tends to be dull. you also said you have dark circles; vitiman c would also help with that since it has properties that are known to help even skin tone. I have dark circles and dry skin as well and vitiman c has worked wonders. As for clogged pores and black heads I would suggest finding a cleanser targeted towards both things.
Good luck =).

My #1 favorite Is the Farsali Rose Gold Elixir. It is an oil blend, with its primary oil, Rosehip oil. My #2 is Smashbox Primer Oil which can be used as a moisterizing treatment or as a primer for very dry skin. It's also a blend, with its main oil, almond oil. It does have lavender oil, which many say is not good for the skin, but it's so low on the deck, it doesn't bother me. Plus it doesn't smell like lavender, thank goodness, because I don't like the scent of lavender. Vitamin C is usually in the form of a serum or cream, not usually in oils. But, vitamin c isn't really comparable to an oil. Both are great, and I use a vitamin c serum and face oils. But they serve different functions for me.
