So my hair falls out like crazy in the shower and when I brush it and I have no idea why?? I take vitamins and drink water and what not so I don't know why my hair does this.

It's actually normal to lose about 100+ strands of hair per day. Unless your hair is thinning or bald patches are forming because of your hair loss then there isn't any need to be concerned. If you want to be safe, though, see a doctor and get a full blood panel done.

Hi Madi!
I've had problems with severe hair loss in the past too. It depends on what you mean when you say it falls out "like crazy". As Alexis said, some amount of daily hair fall is completely normal - about a hundred strands per day, give or take.
But when it becomes noticeably more than this, that's when it indicates that there is a problem that needs correction. Things like seeing a great deal more hair coming out on your hands or in the drain when you rinse in the shower, more strands in your brush or comb, seeing strands on your pillowcase and clothing, or the hair coming out in clumps.
There are a few reasons why it could be happening. Improper diet that is lacking in key nutrients that are essential for hair health could be one reason. Changes in hormone levels is another. High levels of stress can set off a chemical chain reaction that can lead to excessive hair loss. Biotin deficiency is a possibility. Allergic reaction to a new product (althoughthe hair loss would likely be extremely pronounced and present in multiple areas like the head and face if this were the reason). Or maybe a combination of a few of these.
If your hair loss is very noticeable, doesn't respond to vitamins, dietary improvements, or just babying the hair in general to avoid breakage/damage, then I would definitely see your doctor about it. It can be addressed with a doctor's assistance. And I wouldn't wait either. I waited until I had lost nearly 70% of my hair thinking it would stop by itself before I sought my doctor's help. It's usually an easy fix if you practice early intervention.
I hope some of this is helpful for you, Madi! Good luck! :)
