Do you have to use lip liner to wear a lipstick? If so any good brands?

Personally I never use a lip liner with my lipsticks. The only time I use lip liner is if I'm wearing the Urban Decay Revolution Lip Glosses because I find that those bleed so I just use a clear lip liner but with actual lipsticks I skip liner.

It's not necessary however for me I feel like it helps complete my look.

Thanks guys!! How does clear lip liner work.

@Ashlyn it acts as a barrier. It's similar to a wax.

It's not necessary at all.
I think some people have issues with lipstick bleeding of with certain lipstick formulas but I've never had that issues.
Some people also like that lipliners give that clean sharp look but you can get that same look if you're using a lip brush and you can even clean up the edges with concealer.
Sometimes I'll use lipliner to outline my upper lip a little when I wear nudes because I feel like the nudes that are flesh toned or too close to my skins depth can make it hard to tell where my lips start at/kinda blends with the rest of my skintone at a distance so a little bit of a lipliner helps break up that illusion that I don't really have lips lol
Other times I'll use a lipliner as a lipstick I'm very fond of the BH cosmetics lipliners they really are long lasting and quite waterproof

I always use one to even out my uneven lips. But, I also like to cheat my lipline a little too.

You don't but I looks a little better with it, but lipstick by itself is not bad at all.

Lip liner for me is huge. But I NEVER used to wear it until the whole Kylie trend and now I'm obsessed. I don't even buy lipsticks much anymore because I love the way lip liner looks. I have naturally smaller lips so liner does help me make them larger.

Lip liners really help if you have areas of your lip which deviate suddenly from a natural lip line. I find that with nude colours, lip liners help to make the lips look fuller while with darker/bolder colours, lip liners help to give a sharp, clean look :)
