Does it work?

Avoid that product like the plague. It has loads of skin drying/irritating alcohol in it. It's based on the old-fashioned idea of what toners were supposed to be and is incredibly out-dated. If you want a good salicylic acid product go for Paula's Choice.

Can I find that at a local beauty store?

Unfortunately not. The drugstore has some good benzoyl peroxide options but the toners there are largely awful. :/

Thayers toners are better than Paula's choice and you can find them at GNC.

^Thayers is essentially witch hazel, which is way too mixed in its effects on the skin to recommend as part of a staple regimen. It can have antioxidant benefits and has an astringent action due to its high tannin content, but that same astringent action can actually work against its anti-inflammatory nature to irritate the skin, and it naturally contains compounds such as eugenol, which are inherently irritating to the skin and damaging to natural collagen production.
