Hey ladies,I still don't understand how am I supposed to reapply sunscreen every two hours if I have makeup on?
For real, is there any way to do it? What do you do in this matter?
Any thoughts?

You could use a setting spray with spf throughout the day without disturbing your makeup. The brands Supergoop and Coola both carry them. I think you can buy Supergoop at Sephora so you might be able to get a sample or buy a travel size to see if it would work for you.

I'm oily and I'd rather just use a powder that has SPF in it like the Shiseido UV protective compact foundation which has SPF 36. If you're in Asia the MAC Lightful powder foundation has SPF 25

My dermatologist sells a powder SPF that can be applied over makeup. I was super hesitant to try it but it doesn't disturb my makeup. :)

It's not necessary if you won't be perspiring much and not in the sun all day. There are a couple of brands that sell powder/spray SPFs, which you can easily use to reapply through the day.

I second the powder with spf. I'm super oily, and the powder route works best for me.

Just like Sharon said, if you don't sweat or perspire much throughout the day then it's not necessary to keep applying sunscreen on your face. The makeup already helps sheild the skin on your face from the you've rays. You really just need to apply sunscreen on the skin more exposed and without protection like your arms.

I'd have to disagree on reapplying not being necessary.
If you're using a product with a chemical sunscreen then you really should be reapplying.
Chemical sunscreens since the sun ends up breaking down their efficiency. In some cases, the efficiency goes down by 90% in one hour.
Then, there was a study I believe that stated since chemical sunscreens are absorbed by the skin rather than staying on top like physical sunscreens, when they (chemical sunscreens) start to break down, they begin to mutate your cells and can cause more sun damage compared to if you weren't wearing sunscreen at all so it's very important to reapply if the product you're using is a chemical based sunscreen.

All sunscreens are chemical. the difference is if they are made up with organic or inorganic ingredients. inorganic ingredients like zinc oxide work by blocking and dispersing UV rays which is why they leave a white residue. but companies tried to eliminate that and convert particles to nano particles which are absorbed by the skin and hence the need to re apply. However those formulated with organic compounds sit on top of the skin because the molecule is huge and work by absorbing the rays rather than blocking it.

Almost everything is a chemical but how they're commonly classified is by "chemical" or "physical," at least in the US.
A physical(organic/mineral) sunscreen like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide are physical sunscreens that sit on top of the skin and physically block out/reflect the Suns rays.
Chemical (inorganic) sunscreens like oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate and octinoxate work by being absorbed by the skin. They don't reflect or block the Suns rays, they're absorbed by the skin and don't cause the flashback or white residue which is why they're used a lot more and they don't have that heavy feel.
Companies made nano particles of the physical sunscreens and there is some controversy over its safety and how the nano stuff can generate free radicals and cause cell damage

Yeah you are right..what I meant was use organic ones..
regarding the original questions, what I personally do is opt for a multitasking product..my personal choice is Scalisi AntiAging Moisturizer with SPF 30...now the thing is you don't apply a full face of makeup everyday anyways right? so what you can do and what I personally do is around 2 o clock during the day I wipe my face makeup off (not eyes) with a wipe (neutrogena blue ones are awesome) then I apply Scalisi Moisturizer...since its moisturizer, primer and SPF all at the same time I don't need to carry a lot of products or work too hard to create a base..after that depending on how my skin is acting that day, I either just dust some setting powder on top or apply a thin layer of foundation and then my blush and I am good to go...after 4 o clock, there aint much sun anyways so you don't need to reapply...this way your makeup looks awesome and refreshed as well..
regarding reapplying, every 2 hours I don't think that's necessary unless you are either continuously out in the sun or are swimming/in water etc..so there you go! :)
