Hello ladies, well I'm pretty set I want to get my implants but just debating so hard on saline or silicone. I know some people say saline is better or others say silicone. I went to an appointment today and she also said silicone was better for a "real" feel. I want a natural look and real feel as well, I'm not going super big either if that helps in any way. please help, personal experiences or anything :) thank you.

I've had both. They were both fine. The only thing I worried about with saline is if they pop! Otherwise, your doctor should be able to guide you. Also, will they be over or under the muscle? I'd read up online about all pros and cons. It may make a difference, as well, where they're placed. Good luck and enjoy!!

I'm not well versed on implants, but Jacqueline H has left a great amount of knowledge on the subject on a previous thread... I recommend looking into it :)

I had zero breast tissue, so mine have been under the muscle. Those with more tissue can have above the muscle. The only disadvantage of having it under the muscle is (not to mention the initial pain, which is awful but goes away) is that when you flex your muscles in that area (push-ups, heavy lifting, etc.), the breast muscles contract as well and the breasts look deformed for the moments they are being used. When you relax, they look normal. My doctor told me years ago that cocktail waitresses don't like under the muscle because of this (as they are lifting trays, etc, and not wearing much to cover the deformation that occurs). You can look that up online too. I'd also ask your doctor about the shape of the implant. I don't know if it really makes a difference, (as mine are always round due to my lack of tissue), but a lot of people think the shape of the implant has a lot to do with the shape of the breast.

(has to do with the outcome of the shape of the breast)

I am scheduled April 8th for my BA and I'm getting silicone under the muscle. I haven't definitively decided on the size yet. I'd say silicone 100%, I wouldn't get saline even if it was free to be honest. There's an obvious demarcation of the implant on the chest with saline and it doesn't feel natural at all. Luckily my doctor and I were 100% on the same page for doing silicone. This is an important surgery don't get saline because it's less expensive and that's pretty much the only 'pro' to saline

& I don't mean for my comment to come off as rude or anything for people with saline but literally every one I know with Saline has unfortunate results but I should say that every one is different and the surgeon is so important as well so just do your research.

You don't have the muscle deformation with contraction, Jacqueline?! You must have more breast tissue than I do...there is nothing in front of my muscle to hide it. I have had 3 surgeries, myself. I must say that the last one I had - with silicone - has much more rippling on the sides than my previous one - with saline. It could be due to the fact that I went bigger this time and since I have no tissue, you can see the ripply sides of the implants under my arms. As you can see, Iline, everyone is different and has different experiences. I had my saline for 18 years! I was concerned about them popping (I was sure that it would happen while I was in Hawaii when I had to wear a bathing suit!), especially if I was having a massage. Other than that, it's so personal. Do your research and make a decision based on your own instincts. I did the saline the 2nd time because my husband was worried about my getting silicone. They were fine. I chose silicone for the last one because everyone said they were better, but...? One more thing to think about - even saline implants are contained in silicone. I had a cyst removed from under my arm a few years ago. I had no rupture in my silicone implant and my previous saline implants, clearly, did not rupture. However, what the cyst contained was silicone.
