So I have oily/flakey skin. My skin usually gets flakey on my chin, and cheeks, and between my eyebrows. Then I get really oily throughout the day. I bought the too faced born this way foundation and I've heard good things about it but it still settles into my scars and it still shows off my flakes. I've also tried MUFE's HD foundation and that's even worse for my skin. I do also use a chemical exfoliater but it hasn't done much (clearasil). So basically I'm looking for a foundation they won't dry me out an won't settle into my skin and will also match my pale skin.

I think we're basically the same person skin-wise!
My favourite foundation is the Clarins skin illusion, it's absolutely beautiful and lasts all day on me. I'm really pale (as in I can never find my shade pale!) and I've managed to find a match! No7 do great foundations too :)

Most Clearasil products either have benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid in them. Those ingredients are not exfoliates. The benzoyl will kill bacteria and dry out the surface oil. The salicylic acid will clear out pores. It's important to figure out the active ingredients in the products you're using before introducing new products into the mix. You don't want an adverse reaction like burning or swelling. I can tell you one thing though, you do need a hydrating moisterizer to heal your surface dehydration and help to minimize the flakes. Are you applying the Clearasil to the flaky areas? You are probably over treating your oily skin. Can you list the active ingredients in the products you're using.

I also suffered from surface dehydration this winter and re adjusted my skincare routine and have seen a complete turnaround in my skin. But while my skin was improving, I switched from Born This Way to Loreal Lumi Foundation. I suggest addressing the source of your problem & readjust your skincare routine also. If you take an allover approach to improve your skin, you'll get better results. I changed my cleanser, moisterizer, cut back on my toner/exfoliater and started using sheet masks 2x a week. I'm not saying you have to make ALL these changes, but I would definitely scrutinize your products & routine to identify the culprit and make the necessary changes. You'll definitely have lots of help here if you need more guidance. Although I think it's pretty safe to say you should get a hydrating moisterizer, even if you apply it to the flaky areas only.

This is my routine @marleen. I wash my face with burt's bees facial cleanser with Royal jelly once a night. Then I use extracts coconut body scrub 2 times a week then twice a day I use the clearasil pads. Then at night I use N07 soothing toner dry/very dry. And I use N07 night cream normal/dry.
