I'm a total makeup junkie, as I know know many of you are as well! When something new comes in I'm first in line to try it but I'm getting extremely frustrated. I seriously marked time off on my books so that I wouldn't miss out on the Androgyny restock. I was able to get it, but with the quick sell out I know many didn't. Literally not even an hour later I went to flick through one of my shopping apps and there were already dozens of listings for androgyny being sold for 100$+. I'm dying to get my hands on a kylielipkit but it's the same damn thing! Is anyone else completely frustrated by this, and has anyone bought something for an outrageous price they regretted or was it worth it? Thanks for your input :)

I haven't bought anything for an outrageous price.. Most of the time the products aren't really truly sold out! Just a method of creating hype so people go nutty for them. Now I have bought over priced items hehe and some I do love!

I'm all for spending a buck on an item that's worth that value ;), it's just driving me crazy the people who are buying with the sole intention of reselling at an unheard of price!

That's a good point, I guess it all comes down to how much value something has to the individual. It's definitely easy to get caught up in the hype, but being patient always seems to pay off. Once it "cools" down its often easy to find and sometimes at a better price it's just about how long you're willing to wait for it :)

Jacqueline can you tell me what you like about the Chanel Veil?

I really get frustrated when companies hype things up and then are "surprised" it sold out. It's actually a huge turn off to me when a brand does that. I had this situation happen with sugarpill trinket and while I love sugarpill, I won't be buying from them again. Now in terms of buying something expensive, I have and will with no regrets. I'm a huge fan of Tom Fords line for example, and it's not cheap. But I refuse to buy into companies that try and push people into "now or never" type marketing ploys.

I totally should have phrased my question differently, I intended it to read more as have you have bought an item above its suggested retail price and regretted it* Michelle W. It certainly seems as though this is the tactic brands are turning to more often than not, Urban Decay abused this one too many times for me! It bums me out the most when I see indie brands following suit :/

Kylee! Totally agree! I have never bought anything above retail, just because most things come back in stock or will eventually be sold at a normal price!
