So I have been working on my acne and I can happily say that it is FINALLY starting to clear up. my problem now is that I have scars from the acne. they are only around my mouth area and they are red. my skin is trying to fight the dryness from the acne clearing stuff so if possible nothing that will dry my skin even more, but I'm open. thanks!

I used the clean and clear acne wash with 10% benzoyl peroxide and then the medicine Adapalene

What has worked for my scars is a vitamin c serum paired with a BHA exfoliant - but I have combo/oily skin with dry patches from psoriasis and sometimes the BHA is a bit harsh when my dry patches break out - so in those times I switch to an AHA which is more gentle - I used products by Paula's choice - but any brand will do - the vitamin c serum is what really made the difference and the exfoliant just helps to slough away dead skin cells and allow newer healthier cells to replace them - also don't forget to wear SPF 15+ every day! Otherwise the vitamin c serum can't do its job properly - I have photos in my profile of my personal struggle with acne scars - and its ongoing because I still get cystic acne once in a while so it's a constant battle of treating acne then treating the scars - but you can see my progress with those products then judge for yourself if you want to try them.

I'm in the same situation as you, Hannah! To the rescue!!
I've been having GREAT results with consistent use of a few key products, as soon as I'm happy with my skin without makeup I'll make a post about it!
So, I am using a combination of AHAs and an Avene acne cream called Cleneance EXPERT at night, and during the day I wear a very high, non comedogenic SPF (La Roche Posay Anthelios XL ultra light fluid 50+), and once in a while I'll use a Vitamin A, C, and E serum (it's by the Italian brand Collistar).
I'm so happy about how everything is working out for me!!

Exfoliating got rid of all my acne scars. but not any gentle ones. so I recommend either a scrubbing pad or a deep exfoliate.
