I havent used it, but I've heard that St. Ives is like the Bare Minerals of skincare. Lots of people love it, but people who know about skincare despise it.

Too rough for the face.

Most St. Ives scrubs are far too rough for the face, especially their apricot scrub. The apricot scrub contains crushed walnut shells that are so jagged they cause microtears in the delicate skin on your face..

I used to use it and I did really like it! I only would use it only about every two weeks and I have verrrry dry skin. So if it's not that bad, I think It'd be too rough, but if it's bad enough to be flaky then I'd use it for about twice a month

Dunno about even and bright but as Natalia said the apricot one is too harsh...but the Nourish and Smooth Oatmeal Scrub and Mask is really good...its very moisturizing and not harsh at all...gives a nice temporary glow too!
