I use Tretinoin on my face, but my dermatologist gave me clindamycin phosphate for my body acne and so far it's worked really well!

It's a little thing, but I wash my problematic body areas with anti acne face wash and it really has helped, I would try something quite gentle at first though

Tretinoin is another name for Retin A. Even at the dose you were prescribed, skin has to be very slowly introduced to the product. Derms don't seem to stress this enough for some reason, but it is most effective when it isn't actively irritating you and increasing inflammation that comes without acclimating skin to it.

The skin on your back is different than that of your chest, so it doesn't surprise me to hear that your chest got red and irritated..or really dry. I always recommend using one day a week to start with script strength, as you have, and try that for a few weeks, then bump it up to two days a week, etc. Your skin will respond to it much differently when it is more familiar with it. You can counter any dryness with CeraVe AM and PM formulas and acne-friendly oils, such as Evening Primrose (which is calming) or Jojoba Oil. The CeraVe has ingredients that calm skin while hydrating it. It's never oily and won't clog pores on the face or body. The daytime formula is a must for me; I also use Retin A and it increases skin's sensitivity to light.

Your chest catches a ton of light and so does your face. Your back this time of year, most likely is not being exposed to sunlight. So I cannot stress enough if your derm hasn't, that a sunscreen is a big part of protecting your skin and helping your prescription works its very best.

I agree with Sam's recommendation for the Paula's Choice Spray. Some of her items are hit or miss, but he slays it with her acne products and toners. If you aren't using a hydrating toner, I'd definitely add one to your routine..including the chest area. But you really have to moisturize with any acne products to get maximum benefits and reduce irritation. Hope that helps.

Panoxyl bar works wonders! My face and back were covered in acne and my doctor told me to get that and it cleared it all up within about a week and a half. It can be a little drying though. I went from twice a day to once a day because of this and it still has worked great at keeping my acne away. You could even get a moisturizer that isn't too oily to use for the day if your skin gets too dry. I hope it helps!😊

Be aware while using panoxyl...if you are taking another medicine than don't use panoxyl..it can do side effects..be sure that you don't have alergy from medicines before using it
