How do you try and prevent it?
I do no-makeup Mondays, especially on school days. It comforts me to know that if I do have to skip makeup in the mornings for whatever reason, I won't look radically different or anything.

That is a great idea! I only do makeup when I want to and if its convenient. when I was younger, I felt like I had to do it everyday. nowadays though, I adopted the mindset that people can't blame me for not wearing makeup, it's just how I look and it's not like I'm trying to impress people, those I care about and those who are worth caring about don't love me for my makeup.

I wear makeup almost everyday, atleast 5days a week due to school because one day I didn't wear makeup and alot of people said stuff, hurtful stuff, so I wear makeup everyday tp school not because I want to, but because I feel i have too. I've never been confident enough to not wear makeup, if I'm not going out i won't but other then that I always do.

Sunday is my make-up sabbatical. Sometimes I have the urge to play with eye shadows, but I force myself not to. My skin thanks me. Occasionally, if I'm late or something, I skip make up.

Fiona that makes me sad :( if people are being mean to you when you occasionally dont wear makeup, go bare faced everyday for a while, they'll get tired of teasing you eventually. Im sure you're beautiful without makeup, the less you wear it the more you'll see it :)

I used to wear makeup EVERYDAY when I was younger, once I went to college is when I started to go in public barefaced. I only wore makeup on critique and presentation days, but rarely during my studio days.
Now I wear makeup to school since I only go Wednesdays and I try to dress professionally (since they encourage dressing as your would in the work force for my Funeral Directing degree program).
I usually wear makeup on Fridays or if my boyfriend and I are going out with friends, but otherwise I love not wearing make up! Today was a study day, so I haven't a stitch of makeup on.
I will put makeup on when I feel like putting it on or playing around, but I have no qualms about going barefaced when I want to as well!

I just don't give it too much thought. If I feel like wearing it I will. If I feel like going all natural I do. Some weeks I may wear makeup 5 days and other weeks I may wear it once. Just all depends on my mood.

I dont have a dependancy on makeup, but I wear it every day, unless I have no time and am running late for school. I love makeup and wearing bright colorful looks, which is why I wear it. So i see no need in taking days off from wearing makeup.

this sucks, I've been noticing my face has been starting to breakout more since I'm wearing makeup everyday! and when i stop it gets better but for school i feel obligated to wear it cause I have acne scars and stuff its just so embarrassing. but I really wanna wear lees and I can't get myslef to do it! I started yesterday by switching from foundation to BBC cream.. and I still do everything else. I just don't know wat to do

My skin got better when I started wearing make-up almost daily. Probably cause it forced me to wash my face 2x per day. Sometimes I slack when it comes to skin, but not when wearing make up.

I love wearing makeup but I can be pretty lazy about it only wearing it to work once or twice a week. It tends to make me self conscious when people choose to comment about me wearing make up that day >.<

I would love to go some days without make up. I usually keep my make up natural ( a little blush concealer and mascara ) . Sometimes on the weekends I dont wear makeup but one day I came to work without blush my co works kept telling me to go home because i look sick.
