It may be the way your curling your hair, clamp your hair from the middle & twist the Iron up to curl the hair from the middle to the top. Hold it in place for about 10sec then slide the iron down to your tips and twist the iron back up to your roots and hold it again & WALA! Your hair should have pretty curls(: also, after releasing the curls you can pin it up so it can cool down in the curly form

This is what I do with my Karmin Clipless and it might work for you. Put some light holding heat protectant spray on the piece of hair you're going to curl and wrap it around the barrel for 10 seconds or more. Not more than 20 seconds because you'll damage your hair. Then, pin up the curl and go on to the next piece of hair. Once the pinned up curls are cool, let them down and use a teeny bit of holding spray. Don't use too much product or it will weigh down on the curls and flatten them.

Try curling your hair with a clipless curling iron cortex four in one. Better results than with any curling iron I've tried
