What is the secret of having flawless face with foundation??

My favorite is to use a liquid foundation under powder, and then use your concealer on too of that. Just don't go overboard, you don't want to look powdery!!

Adequately prepared skin, and correct application method. I am a firm believer that any foundation can LOOK good if you know the correct way to work with it.

I disagree with the answer that you must have great skin. I have seen makeup artists make a woman who has alot of acne, scars into a flawless looking face. Im a firm believer that application is key, start with less, then slowly build. Also spot conceal with a full coverage concealer instead of working with a super full coverage foundation. Always set with powder(atleast undereyes), and dont touch your face throughout the day.

Mandi i completely agree with what you said. But i believe the question was how do you make your foundation look flawless, as in smooth, even, airbrushed. So i was reffering to the fact that you can have flawless foundation without having great skin. But i do agree that having great skin helps, and that skincare is more important. I just do not believe that is what the poster was asking.

I agree, i always vouch that skin care is 10000% more important than makeup, atleast foundation, lol. But thats not what people want to hear sometimes, haha. They think you can just find a good foundation and look flawless. Cant lie though, ive been there.

So did i! I remember i used to use body lotion on my face and wash with a dove bar and complain that no makeup looked good on me. Not to mention i felt hideous without makeup because of all the redness. Luckily i never had acne issues, but i did have blackheads, huge pores, and redness. So glad thats done with! I love being able to wear a sheer foundation and look "flawless". If only it was that easy for others.

Highlighter, blush, and bronzer. No one wants to be a walking flat colored canvas, so add a bit of those three so it looks all natural. (Yes, I used to be a walking canvas)

Great skin. Make sure your foundation isthe correct undertone and it's a color match, blend blend blend!! And if it ever looks cakey, spritz with Mac Fix+ or UD Dew Me setting spray.

Agreed with Cameron. As some one who deals with severe skin problems, I've learned that great application makes all the difference. Even when one has bad skin - Experiment with different brushes, sponges, etc & see what works for you best!

Start with flawless skin and then skip the foundation. Jk, keep skin polished with baking soda once a week and moisturize prior to foundation. Then Blend blend blend. Careful your hairline doesn't turn into foundation line. I learned you don't need to foundation your whole face, just go lightly where you feel u need it.

I don't know...you can correct the color of just about anything, but if you have unevenness in terms of bumps and such, there's just no real way - at least that I've found - to cover that. You always see it at certain angles.

Now redness, blotchiness, and relatively flat blemishes you can cover. I'm a big believer in color correcting and NOT using a concealer that's significantly different in tone from your skin/foundation. Concealer that's too light always looks super obvious to me even when it's blended. I see a lot of reverse raccoon eye going around lately.

Buffing foundation into skin works, but stippling works as well. Buffing will get you a thinner layer that's evenly applied where stippling presses the foundation into skin without really moving it around too much. Either way, finish on the downward stroke to avoid disturbing the peach fuzz on your face. Primers can help foundation go on more evenly and stick around longer, as well as filling in some unevenness like fine wrinkles and pore openings.

For a flawless foundation:

wash your face
apply a moisturizer
apply a primer
use less foundation first and if you need more then slowly build it up

and use a damp beauty blender to blend out the foundation for a more natural look.

then set with a light amount of powder
