Clear lip liner?

I'm dying to wear a nude shade of lipstick/gloss on my lips..I have many many kinds of colors that tutorials have suggested, however I tend to hate if if there is no lip liner involved. When they do use a lip liner it's never dark enough to really show up and make that nice line I like..tips on nude lips??? Is this something I have to get use to because I'm used to so much color..has anyone tried the clear lip liners?
