Help With Bareminerals

I've been using bareminerals for about two months now. I used it a long time ago when I was a teenager but this time I'm not getting the same results like I did back then. It seems like I spend forever putting it on and I'm not getting enough coverage (even after I've put on several light layers with the full coverage brush) I also don't get a flawless look like I used too. Any suggestions? I'm wondering, even after getting matched with a shade from sephora, if I still don't have the right shade?
