I've watched countless videos on winged liner and no matter what I do it never comes out right. I have a round eye but they are hooded as well. The liner either disappears in the crease right at the outer corner of my eye or it just doesn't look right. I tried following my lower lashline but it looks like it goes straight up instead of out lol. I'm about to give up on this look! Any tips or advice?

Follow the natural curve of your upper lid. Don't try to wing it up but more of a wing out.

I do take it out pretty far but I think it just looks stupid to be honest. Because of the way my eyes are shaped, when I follow the upper lid it ends up pointing more down than out. I'm pretty good with makeup but I think I just wasn't meant for the cat eye look lol

It took me forever to perfect my liner, but I found that liquid liner works best for me. I have Asian eyes, so it was difficult to find the right technique. I agree that following the curve if your upper lid works best! I make my wing first then connect it to the rest of my lid :)

I have the same problem. My hooded eyes make it nearly impossible for me to wear a cat eye :/ but I love cat eyes so much. Keep practicing. That's all we can do.

I have hooded eyes and I have to tight line and extend the line pretty far out.

I agree with Brooke and Cayce. I have slightly hooded lids and I used to find it difficult to make winged liner look good, I had the same problem as you. But it was because I wasn't doing it right. I now wear winged liner pretty much all the time and I do it by following the natural shape of the eye and going out instead of up, just like Cayce said.

Follow your lower lash line to get the angle right.
