Eyelash Curler help!

I was reading that not all eyelash curlers are created equal? I'm having issues with the curler I have now, and have lost half of my lashes in some spots :( Can someone please explain the difference between eyelash curlers, and make some suggestions on what ones you use?! I'm scared of my eyelash curler in case I end up with no lashes! I've never had this problem before, just with this eyelash curler, and I don't want to make another bad choice!
