Do you visit a dermatologist?

First visit a dermatologist. She will recommend you some skin cares that you will have to do every morning and evening. You have to visit dermatologist every month to keep the skin healthy. Do not use peeling as it may transfer the infection and bacteria, also do not touch it with your hands or whatever because the acne will spread eventually. Don't use drugstore skincare, trust the pros - your dermatologist. It's painful getting rid of the acne, but after few months you'll see the change.

I have bad acne and went to the dermatologist and they gave me something to treat it and it has helped a lot.

It's all well and good recommending derms, but some people can't get to them, like in the UK you have to be referred by a doctor, this can take months and hardly ever happens.
Is there a chance of being able to visit your doctor?

I'd recommend establishing a firm skincare regime, suited to your skintype. Cleansing, exfoliating, toning and moisturising are all important, as well as a face mask once or twice a week. Exfoliate only up to 3 times a week.

Product-wise, I'd go for Liz Earle 'Cleanse and Polish' as a cleanser, Witch Hazel as a toner and Liz Earle moisturiser (you can choose your skin type). I recommend these as they're all extremely gentle on the skin and contain natural ingredients and essential oils. I like the Liz Earle face masks and Gentle exfoliater as they really help.

Like everyone said the derm will be a good first step to determine the type of acne you have and give you treatment - otherwise you could end spending many years and dollars trying to figure out your own over the counter treatments that may or may not work - if you know your skin type and what type of acne you have then maybe we can help with suggestions but without that info even we can't be much help.

I, personally, have horrible acne. I've been using tea tree oil. it's made my face less irritated, less dry, less acne.

Start with something more natural try using 100% pure African black soap as your face wash and use Shea butter as your moisturizer its not to heavy and is great for skin. plus you can get it pretty cheap online. and be sure to at least try any skin regimen for 12 days before deciding if it'll work for you or not

And of course if you can see a deem go see one but like Hannah said not everyone can get to one.

Buy a 30 day acne kit by philosophy. It costs $40 at sephora. It has helped me with my acne a lot and I am very happy with the products and results. My skin is sensitive and acne prone. Before using the kit I was oily in my t zone and had a lot of break outs on my forehead, my right cheek and jaw area. And my chin was extremely dry and peeling. I don't know how it happened. But I was recommended the kit and started using it. The dryness on the chin went away after two days use, on my fifth day and my jaw line is clear, cheeks are clear, and acne of forehead is pretty much gone. These are the following products

This is me. I'm not wearing any makeup so you can see what my skin looks like. Sadly I didn't keep pictures of my break outs but my skin was really inflamed with acne.

And this is the sunscreen that I'm using. It is made for every sensitive acne and rosacea prone skin. I also got it at sephora, it's $30 but I've been using it for 5 months now and still have a lot left. My advice is try philosophy. Regarding African black soap and Shea butter, I've tried them before. The soap made my skin extremely tight and Shea butter broke me out. From my personal experience I would not advice you them.

I agree sometimes you just can't go see a dermatologist. Where I live there are none and I honestly have no idea how you'd go about seeing one. I'm assuming doctor referral, but referrals in Canada take forever for everything. I've been waiting two years for a surgery which is serious, skincare not so much so I could see it being a longer wait. I used clean & clear for my cystic acne as it had benzoyl peroxide in it which helped a lot more than the other stuff something acid lol
