There's no way you can go to blonde from black with no damage. You could try a wig.

You are going to damage your hair quite a lot because you have to bleach it.

I'm not limiting or underestimating a timed process so there shouldn't be an issue.

Even if you're willing to make the process 2 years long, damage will be done. There's literally no way to do it without damage.

The girls above are right.
To go from black to blonde requires tons of bleaching. Your removing all the pigment from the hair shaft. Bleaching won't damage too much if you get it done by a professional who knows what they're doing. But it'll be multiple times. And depending on your hair health and whether it was box dyed or natural Will make a difference. You might get to bleach your hair 6 times with no damage, or one short bleaching could cause massive damage. It really depends on your hair structure. Either way, it's not something you should do on your own.

Just bleach you hair. Don't put heat on it and oil it for a month then put blonde dye in and in month after that your hair should be fine.

If only it were that simple, Delinah. Bleaching itself is an extremely long and difficult process, especially for black hair.

And not to mention there's a whole lot of toning that will have to be done. If you have any hint of red tones in your hair it'll just turn orange and need lots of toning.

I used color oops from the drugstore, I used two boxes, but it depends on your hair on how much you'll need, my hair was pretty healthy so I had minimal damage, and then I toned the hair. A lot of people won't agree with this method but it worked for me after a hair oops.

Color oops will only work if her black isn't her natural color. If you dare do it yourself, definitely purchase a couple lightning kits, a few hair masks or just a jar of coconut oil and some eggs haha. Do it however you want, just be mindful, be careful and know that it won't happen overnight without serious damage.

If black isn't her natural color*...meaning it's dyed.

Okay now I'm confused. I just bleached the ends I my hair so I could dye it purple. I left it in for 20 minutes then rushed to take it out Cuz it was soo blonde! I only wanted it to get like a dirty blonde because I figured the purple would show up over it. It was as light as that picture raylene posted, if not lighter. Again this was 20 minutes with bleach. I also did a deep conditioner after and my hair feels no different than before (really surprised and happy). I'm confused as to how this could take more than one bleaching treatment? I'm latina, my hair was pretty black before!

Emily, if you had virgin hair the bleach would react better than it would on black dyed hair.

I had box dyed black hair and pro dyed black hair (I stopped using box dye so like the lower half was box dyed). Salon dye lifted exponentially better than did the box dye (I'm talking like a level 4 or 5 on the box dye lift and like a 7 or 8 on the salon dye). That will make a huge difference. I also slowly went from black to blonde, and even with the slower process I lost like 4 inches of length when I eventually went blonde. My hair has minimal damage from the process, but I also use only salon hair products, regularly deep condition, and use heat protectants. I also have very resilient hair that's pretty thick. I'd definitely go to a pro to get this done to maintain the integrity of your hair.

It wasn't virgin, I'd bleached an ombre before then dyed it back to black

Emily, that's why it didn't take long. You had bleached hair underneath. There was less pigment to remove. I've been bleaching my hair since I was 12, I've never had it lift in one go unless I was rebleaching a section that had been bleached before.
Either way, jewel definitely go to a professional, it'll cut down the damage and cost in the end.
