Rotten, that's definitely the way to go! I lucked out because I'm a creative type, and most artsy circles are pretty tolerant, even encouraging, of tattoos. If I had wanted to go into, say, medicine... I'd probably still have all these tattoos haha but I'd whine and moan about having to cover them.

I have at least 20 tattoos and a full sleeve. I don't regret any of them. Start off with something small if you're skeptical.

Thanks for your input everyone. Really happy to see people were respectful; for the most part, in sharing their opinions. I do think some people totally contradicted themselves when they said that the amount of people getting tattoos these days isn't trendy based on what they said after that. There's no doubting it is a trend that people pick up on - especially the now staple tattoos of infinity symbols and feathers/bird (which I honestly love by the way hahah). My point was to say yes it is a trend, people are more inspired and prone to getting them because others are. Not that that takes away from anyone's choice or right to get one, meaningful or not. I can say from my experience where I'm living - a lot of people are getting things I don't think they're 100% thinking through fully and doing it mainly for fitting the trend. I'm not a big tattoo person myself. I love some peoples work, but I don't see too many things I'd love to have on me forever. I definitely prefer small and cute, or a quote vs big pieces and I personally wouldn't like having mass amounts on me. I really liked seeing everyone's opinions and view and super stoked to see it was a mature conversation.

I have one tattoo but I never got it to be stylish I just love art and it love the idea of body art and that you have chosen a particular person to create something on your body for life so it's basically like a trace of the artist everywere you go so make sure you choose an artist wisely it's also something for me that symbolises something very important to me. There are so many different tattoo styles and some people appreciate different tattoos due to the way it was created and the style of painting and some people just love it because of what that tattoo means to them. A tattoo does not have to be a serious symbolism it could even just be something you think looks beautiful or a picture of something you love that makes you happy or song lyrics that you love so it all depends on the individual everyone's personality is different and everyone has different reasons for getting tattoos and some people will take them more seriously than others but even if you get one because you think it looks good who cares if it makes you happy that's all that matters.
