I heard the news of Dr. Brandt's death today and I'm really bummed out 😞. Such sad news. I started using his Triple Peptide Eye Cream a few months ago and it is the best eye cream I've ever used (and I've tried many). I didn't know much about his line, but I found it on clearance at TJ Maxx for $15 (I didn't realize it is usual $80 or I would have stocked up). It has been the ONLY eye cream I wanted to repurchase. It is so rich and hydrating. I've been trying to find more at TJ Maxx, but it's never there so I caved and got it at Sephora for 80.

I'd love to try more of his skincare products, but I haven't found much info if they are non-comedogenic. I have to be careful with anti-aging products as I still breakout unfortunately. I did buy several other of his products at TJ Maxx as I couldn't resist the price. Might give them a shot after I have time to research individual ingredients to see if they could be pore clogging.

Anyone else use his products? I really hope the line continues.

I love his micellar water, pores no more, and light years away cleanser.

Haven't had a breakout from any of them and I break out easily. I am looking forward to trying more products but they are pricey. The cleanser is the only thing I got cheap and it was at TJ Maxx too:)

I just recommended Pores No More to someone on here-I had no idea!

I met him a few years ago at function that I attended with the hubs. The man was definitely a character but a very smart one so hopefully he had his estate written in a way that will allow his business to continue in case of his passing.

I have used a few items from his line in the past though at the time they were just too heavy/rich for my skin since I wasn't needing advance anti-aging products at that time. I have the Pores No More in my Sephora cart for the upcoming sale. I would splurge on his core products like eye creams, serums, and night creams...not so much on the cleansers (unless you get them on sale).

To address the concern about anything being non-comedogenic...that word is truly just that...a word that is part of marketing to give people a false sense of security that what they are putting on their face is ok. Another buzz word is dermatologist-tested...most times its only one dermatologist on hand to review the product and then that's it. Its not a board of dermo's sitting around testing and reviewing data. Just a paid dermatologist paid an consultant fee. Best thing to do is to read the ingredients of any product you are interested in and see if it will work with your skin...especially if you already know what irritates your skin.

Shelley, that makes sense about non-comedogenic labeling. Are you aware of a reliable list of ingredients that are proven to be pore clogging? I really hate taking chances as once my skin flares up, it's awful to get it back under control. I've never been able to identify a specific ingredient that causes problems (ie Mac Pro Longwear made me breakout, different type of acne than my usual hormonal and both times I tried it, but have no clue what ingredient in it caused it).  Thanks!!

Its very tough to determine Maggie. As what might clog your skin might not clog mine. And its a hotly debated topic even amongst people that formulate products. Out the gate I will say this...I despise mineral oil/paraffin in products. My skin can only tolerate it in my beloved RoC Retinol cream but other than that if its cosmetics...I can't use it every single day (side eye to Hard Candy's bronzers) or else I can expect a major breakout. As far as MAC is concerned...I've tried every single foundation within that line and they all broke me out. Come to find out its a common preservative that they use that causes me grief (its sits too high on the ingredients list so that means its percentage amount is higher). Phenoxyethanol is its name. I can tolerate it in most things (as long as its sits low, low, low on the list) but not when it comes to MAC skin products. 'Cones are another known irritant for some folks. I know I can't handle too much of it in skincare. Lanolin is another. As another BL user is experiencing irritation from a popular lip product that I too had issue with the number one ingredient...lanolin.
What I did to get to the root of my skin issues is getting a patch test conducted. I learned that lanolin (and lanolin esters) is a major no-no for me along with the preservative I just mentioned. What is also to be noted that most times we build up an allergen to certain ingredients...our skin/body goes into overload and our once beloved product becomes enemy number one.To give you an example...as a kid I loved orange juice...loved it so much my mom brought it like milk...in gallons. One day on vacation I drank a pitcher worth over the course of the day. At dinner I had a glass of OJ...after guzzling about 8 oz I started having issues breathing. Come to find out my airway was being blocked...it was swelling up. I rushed to the hospital and bad bing bada boom I was told that orange juice was what caused my reaction. My body could no longer handle the high amount of acidic properties I was consuming. So anything with a citrus base, for me is not a good thing. Even with skincare I have to watch it because it will cause me to break out with these fine bumps that don't resemble acne that are unsightly. It took me 8 years to build up that intolerance to citrus. Its a huge reason why I rotate my skincare so often. I don't want my skin to become overloaded by one product only for it to cause me grief later on. Sorry for the long rant but I'm all about educating. :)

Thanks Shelley! Overall it just sounds like it's trial and error. There are so many amazing anti-aging products I'm dying to try, but am so nervous to give them a shot as I don't want to risk it. Ugh I hate trying to find products that are beneficial for acne and aging. I'll definitely avoid the ones that you mentioned for sure. And that's crazy about the orange juice! Good thing you were ok! I definitely am guilty of using the same products for years and years so switching it up once in a while might be a good thing.
